Maria Menounos is getting told that her “selfless” and good-hearted soul is second to none. The 42-year-old media personality, massively in the news this year for stepping into Kelly Ripa’s shoes during the 50-year-old’s time off “Live!” updated her Instagram this weekend with a very touching post. Maria is continuing to try and remain positive as her mother Litsa battles brain cancer, with the star’s update coming with a mention of her mom, plus the TV host’s Greek heritage. The “Better Together” host, also facing tough times of late as both her parents battled COVID, posted for her 943,000 Instagram followers, with a very traditional photo showing a hand holding a lit candle amid a church setting with stunning, stained glass panels, icons, and rows of people sat at a service. Opting out of showing her face, the beautiful star instead dedicated her post to a little hope and faith, also mentioning Easter. See it below.
Taking to her caption and actually opening in Greek, Maria told her fans: “Χριστός Ανέστη,” adding:
“Watching st. Marks in boca w/mom online & even got to light a candle through their site. This is the photo they send of it when they light it. Happy easter to all who celebrate.”

In December 2020, Maria opened up on the health of her parents, and she was not delivering the best of news. Speaking of mom Litsa, already diagnosed with stage 4 cancer by this stage, Menounos stated: “We got some not some not so great news on Monday, November 23, that my mom’s brain tumor was growing.”
Having to fly out after her mother’s caretaker got sick, Maria added: ” Long story short is that within a few hours, both of my parents were diagnosed with COVID.” More below.
Maria has managed to stay all smiles when it’s needed. She thrilled fans by joining 46-year-old Ryan Seacrest on “Live!” and she’s been doing the same on Instagram. A recent photo showed Maria writing: “Awaiting orders” as she looked gorgeous with a high ponytail Ariana Grande would approve of, although fans have not forgotten what she’s going through.
