Jessica Simpson is certainly one of the celebs that can say she was adored for her body being considered a sex symbol in the 2000s. To then being called fat by fans just a couple of years removed from people hanging up posters of her on their wall.
In the last few years, Simpson has decided to open up about her struggles with her body. Today it seems that she is very comfortable in her own skin. Claiming in a recent interview that she has thrown away her scale to stop worrying about how much she weighs.
In a recent interview that aired on “Today” Simpson talks about the process of actually dumping out her scale and how she deals with gaining or losing weight these days. Simpson mentioned that have a scale around is like,
“[A] Ouija board in church,”
She also revealed how she deals with her fluctuating weight. Mentioning that she owns clothes in all different sizes. Stating,
“I have no idea how much I weigh, I just want to be able to feel good and zip my pants up. If I don’t, I have another size. I have every size,”
Another thing that she revealed in the interview was that a lot of the famous comments that led to her literally personifying the dumb blonde stereotype for years were mostly staged. Simpson mentioned that she was mostly in on the joke.
That seems to be true to some degree. Today the girl who questioned whether tuna was chicken or fish because the can said chicken of the sea is a best-selling author. There are a couple of things in that statement that probably don’t go together. Unless she really was in on the joke.

Jessica Simpson makes everything sound so great. Throw away the scale buy clothes in different sizes, and problem solved! Is it really a good idea to throw away your scale? Well according to the experts at the Harvard Medical School, (yes we did our research for this one), keeping a scale at home isn’t for everyone. It may also not be beneficial to keep track of your weight on a daily basis.
One of their publications on the topic mentions,
“Too much attention to the scale can be misleading and ultimately lead to frustration and discouragement.”
The 40-year-old mother of 3 still keeps very busy, but she’s kind of strayed away from what made her famous. She hasn’t made a relevant music album in a decade and change. TV and movies have not been on her radar for a while now.
What she has been doing is writing books and essays! The reason why she gave the interview where she talked about the whole scale ordeal was that she was promoting an essay compilation. If you want to dive deep into the mind of Jessica Simpson you can pick up “Take The Lead” her new book!
