We always thought that Kesha had a pretty easy name to pronounce, but some people must have trouble because she felt the need to correct them!
The “Tik Tok” singer shared a funny TikTok video on Tuesday, April 27. She participated in a viral challenge where people say their names and reveal how people mispronounce them. Sounds fun… but how do people butcher Kesha’s name?
“Tell me what your name is, and then tell me what people mispronounce it as,” the girl giving the TikTok prompt said before Kesha came on.
“It’s Kesha! Keh-shuh… not Keisha! Not Ketchup! Kesha!” she clarified.
The stunning star wore a sheer Fenti top with a sparkly silver jacket as her long blonde hair cascaded down the front of her shoulders. Her lacy lingerie was visible as she shimmied her shoulders back and forth for the TikTok name game.
Interestingly enough, the singer’s mom, Pebe Sebert, also shared a TikTok about why she picked the name Kesha in the first place. “So the name Kesha is actually a Hungarian family name that Lagan [Kesha’s older brother] would’ve been named if he had been a girl,” Sebert explained. “But since he wasn’t the name is actually pronounced Ke-tu-cha in Hungarian and I decided to make it easier and to make it Kesha. And that’s where Kesha came from.” The more you know…
The “Timber” artist has fully embraced TikTok and social media since the pandemic started and made a video to her own song in April 2020. She busted out a choreographed dance of her own creation to her 2010 hit, “Take It Off.” “If u bored like me just Take it off ???,” she captioned her video at the time.
Her song, “Cannibal,” found a new life on the popular social media platform and was featured in millions of videos, including some from some of TikTok’s biggest stars like Charli D’Amelio.
