Ashley Judd Shares BRUTAL Photos & Video Of Her Horrific Legs Injuries!

Ashley Judd is on the road to recovery from her extensive leg injuries after a brutal fall on the jungles of the Democratic Republic of the Congo -- and now, she is sharing stunning photos of the damage!

The 53-year-old actress posted several photos and videos on Instagram showing just how terrible the damage is to her lower leg, which included shattering her leg in four places and severe nerve damage.

The legendary actress also showed off the extensive scarring from multiple surgeries it took to set the leg and fix the damage.

“It’s okay if you fall down and lose your spark. Just make sure that when you get back up, you rise as the whole damn fire.” C. Werden I am getting back up. I remember when I began sleeping through the night. I remember when I began to have dreams again (both kinds). With the kind of injury, I (& many others) have, we speak of degrees," she wrote.

Adding, "In the video, 109 degrees was an outrageous dream, & trying to reach it was agony. I did 60 of those heel slides a day. I sobbed through them. I made it because of the loving exhortation and validation of my many friends. Yesterday, I effortlessly reached the benchmark of 130 degrees. I can nearly reach my knee as you see in one picture. My feet can rest almost parallel. The knee is coming along, the four fractures healing."

Ashley Judd Shares 'Harrowing' Recovery Pictures


"The peroneal nerve injury will take at least a year I concentrate hard at moving my very still foot," she added.

The best part, Ashley ended her explanation with a promise to get back out on the hiking trails, saying, "Look out, Patagonia, because when that nerve heals, you'll be seeing me."

As we reported, Ashley Judd is recovering from an "incredibly harrowing" accident where she reportedly tripping over a fallen tree while visiting endangered Bonobos monkeys in the DRC.

After falling and shattering her leg, the actress was forced to undergo a brutal "55-hour" rescue -- which included being carried out of the jungle on a makeshift stretcher by two guides and being airlifted to South Africa for surgery.

"I arrived to them from DRC in terrible shape and my leg had no pulse," she said at the time. Adding, "I desperately needed a blood transfusion. Their sisters (nurses) are exemplary, technically top-notch, and they cared for the trauma in my body as well as my soul with equal proficiency."

In the end, Ashley underwent several operations in South Africa, was then transported to the U.S. in a 22-hour trek that included four flights -- and eventually underwent an "8-hour surgery to repair the bones, decompress the hemorrhaging nerve and pick the shards of bones out of the nerve."
