DMX’s memorial will be held in the legendary rapper’s home state of New York, at the Barclays Center.
According to multiple reports, the ‘Ruff Ryders Anthem’ rapper will be honored by his family and friends in one of the top entertainment locations in the country.
The rapper’s memorial is scheduled for Saturday, April, 24, at the sports arena in Brooklyn. Apparently, the final touches on the ceremony and the logistics are still being worked out — but, the location is booked for that day.
DMX’s manager says the exact amount of people who will be allowed inside the arena is also still be discussed.
Obviously, with COVID-19 protocols, ticketing, and the vast number of people who will want to pay their respects to the legendary artist will be something that has to be worked out.
This will be X’s “public memorial” — but his family and close friends will be attending a more private funeral service inside of a local church in NYC the next morning.
If you are a DMX fan, you know the rapper absolutely crushed the venue back in 2019, which would be one of his last major concerts.

As we reported, DMX’s hometown of Yonkers, NY offered to host the memorial at the town’s raceway, because the musician grew up in the area.
But, the mayor says the city still plans on paying tribute to the legendary rapper which might include a street named after him or some sort of statue or memorial.
The Barclays memorial will be held just two weeks after DMX died after suffering a massive heart attack due to a drug overdose. The rapper lived for several days on life support, but after tests revealed he had minimal brain activity — his family was forced to make the hard decision to let him go in peace.
