Underwood, a former NFL player, says he is coming to terms with what occurred earlier this year and believes this admission is an important step to the journey. As you know, Colton’s ex-girlfriend and co-star Cassie Randolph, filed a restraining order against him accusing him of stalking.

“I’ve ran from myself for a long time and I’ve hated myself for a long time,” Underwood said on ‘GMA’ — adding, “I’m gay.”
He continued, “I got to a place in my personal life that was dark and bad. I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it, and the next step in all of this is sort of letting people know.”
Adding, “I’m still nervous. It’s been a journey, for sure.”
If you are a ‘Bachelor’ fan you know that Colton’s storyline heavily promoted his virginity — and his blossoming relationship with Cassie Randolph. But, that didn’t end well…
As we reported, the couple’s relationship ended with Randolph filing a restraining order against Underwood accusing him of stalking and harassment — including placing a tracking device on her car to follow her every move.
“I made a lot of bad choices,” Underwood said. “I loved everything about her, and that only made it harder and more confusing for me.”
“I’m sorry for the pain and emotional stress I caused,” Underwood told Roberts. Adding, “I wish it wouldn’t have happened the way it did. I wish that I would have been courageous enough to fix myself before I broke anybody else.”

Unfortunately, Underwood says the turmoil led to suicidal thoughts, like imagining himself driving off of a cliff. “There was a moment in L.A. that I woke up and I didn’t think I was going to wake up,” he said.
Adding, “I didn’t have the intentions of waking up.” This incident was a “wake-up call” for the reality star.
In the end, Colton says “I’m like the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been in my life and that means the world to me.” Plus, despite the allegations against him, the Bachelor Nation is behind him — with the producer missing a statement, saying, “We are so inspired by Colton Underwood’s courage to embrace and pursue his authentic self. As firm believers in the power of love, we celebrate Colton’s journey in the LGBTQIA+ community every step of the way.”
