John Travolta shared a special tribute to his late son, Jett on what would have been his 29th birthday.
The iconic actor shared a touching black-and-white picture of him and his son on Tuesday, April 13. Jett, Travolta and Kelly Preston‘s first child, passed away in 2009 after suffering a seizure and hitting his head in a bathtub at the family’s vacation home in the Bahamas. John’s tribute photo featured Jett’s big smile as he looked on lovingly. Jett’s sister and John’s only daughter, Ella, also paid tribute with a touching throwback photo.
“Happy birthday my beautiful Jetty. I love you,” Travolta captioned his tribute photo.
Ella shared a cute picture of her older brother interacting with her when she was a baby alongside her birthday message. “I love you Jetty. Happy Birthday❤️,” she wrote.
Jett and Ella’s mom, Kelly Preston, passed away after a private battle with breast cancer in July 2020. Many fans commented that Jett and Kelly are together again. “I believe he and Kelly are together (again) forever….I hope you have found comfort in that, in some small measure at least. ❤️” one caring fan wrote on John’s post.
Ella also has a birthday in April, and she celebrated turning 21-years-old on the 3rd. Her father marked the occasion with a sweet photo and a little love note. “Happy 21st birthday to the most beautiful, kind, human being and artist I know. Your dad adores you! ❤️” he wrote at the time.
It seems like the family has stepped up the public support after Preston passed away. Fans got emotional when Ella and John danced together for their Scotts Super Bowl commercial, and they have interacted closely on social media ever since. Ella called her dad the “most incredible man I have ever known” on John’s birthday in February. “You are not only the best Dad ever, but you are also my best friend. Thank you for raising us, helping us and loving us and thank you for all of the good you do every day. The world is so lucky to have you and so are we. I love you Daddy.”
