Teddi Mellencamp may not be a featured cast member on the 11th season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” but she’s still in touch with a number of her former co-stars. In fact, she calls Kyle Richards one of her best friends.
During an interview with The Things last week, Mellencamp was asked about her remaining friends of the Bravo reality show and right away, she admitted to being caught off-guard by just how close she and Richards became after meeting amid production on the series.
Teddi Mellencamp And Kyle Richards’ Families Are Close
“I love Kyle! I didn’t go into ‘Housewives’ expecting to make a life-long bestie but it was definitely a plus. We get along so well and so do our families,” Mellencamp explained.
Mellencamp, who is known to exchange public pleasantries with the rest of the cast, as well, said that even she and Dorit Kemsley, who she feuded with after joining the cast, have maintained a friendship.
“Dorit and I just communicate differently and it creates some issues. But we’re able to always work past them,” she shared.
Teddi Mellencamp Was Fired In September 2020
As fans of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” will recall, Mellencamp and Kemsley got off on a bad foot after Kemsley showed up late to a lunch date with Mellencamp and kept her waiting for over a half hour.
Luckily, after months of tension, the two women were able to settle their differences and form a healthy relationship with one another. Sadly, due to Mellencamp’s September 2020 firing, fans will not be seeing Mellencamp and Kemsley continue with their friendship on the show.
Teddi Mellencamp Was Honest About Her Firing
Although many past “Real Housewives” have claimed that their exits from the franchise were their own decision, Mellencamp immediately came forward upon her firing and revealed that she was not asked back for season 11.
“I like to keep it real!” Mellencamp explained of her decision to be honest.
As for whether or not Andy Cohen contacted her with a reason for her firing, Mellencamp confirmed he did not.
“No, he didn’t, but everything happens for a reason. I’m excited for what’s to come next!” she exclaimed.
Lisa Vanderpump’s Diss Didn’t Phase Teddi Mellencamp
Also during her interview with The Things, Mellencamp was asked about Lisa Vanderpump’s comments about her exit, which were made on her podcast, “All Things “Vanderpump” several ago, saying that she was “boring” and noting that she didn’t have a good experience with her.
“I didn’t know she had a podcast,” Mellencamp, who hosts her own show, “Teddi Tea Pod” podcast, replied.
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 11 premieres on May 19 at 8/7c on Bravo.
As for whether or not she’ll make a cameo, Mellencamp played coy about the possibility and teased, “Maybe, maybe not…”
