The Bella Twins‘ long awaited induction into the WWE Hall of Fame finally arrived. The sisters were announced as inductees for the 2020 class, however due to the coronavirus pandemic the ceremony was cancelled. But this year the 2020 class along with the 2021 inductees took their place into the prestigious Hall of Fame.
Both ceremonies aired Tuesday night on the Peacock Network, and there were a lot of big names on hand. But it was the Bellas who stole the show when it came time to hit the stage. Dressed in their signature red, Brie and Nikki were all smiles as they accepted WWE’s biggest honor.
Praise From Co-workers
Brie and Nikki’s induction into the Hall of Fame was a momentous occasion. The sisters shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the ceremony. The two couldn’t help showing off their rings and their plaques as they thanked everyone who’s been with them on this journey.
As the sisters were inducted, the Bella Army lit up Twitter, expressing joy at seeing the women receive a huge honor. Aside from their fans, the Bellas received a lot of love from their co-workers. Charlotte Flair called the Bellas “queens” and said “they have opened doors for generations to come.”
Little did Brie and Nikki know that when they joined WWE in 2007, they would become icons in women’s wrestling. The twins stole the show from the moment they made their main roster debut. Since then they’ve achieved a lot throughout their careers. Both sisters would go on to win the Divas Championship, and Nikki made history by becoming the longest-reigning Divas champ in WWE history.
Although, they received a lot of criticism throughout the years, no one could deny the Bellas had a passion for the sport. They were always training to prove they were more than just pretty faces. Fans soon took notice of Brie and Nikki’s skills, and before long the Bella Army grew.
Aside from their wrestling accomplishments, the sisters have built their Bella empire. Thanks to the shows “Total Divas” and “Total Bellas,” the girls drew a lot of new viewers to WWE television. Whether it was wrestling, television, or creating their own business; the Bellas proved they were role models. They showed women could do anything that they set their mind to.
Life After Wrestling
Nikki and Brie retired from wrestling in 2019. Since then the twins have found plenty to keep them busy. Aside from expanding their business empire, they also added to their family.
In January 2020, the sisters announced they were both pregnant and due around the same time. In true Bella fashion, Nikki beat Brie to the punch when she gave birth to son Matteo on July 31, 2020. Matteo is the first child for Nikki and her fiancé Artem Chigvintsev. One day later on August 1st, Brie gave birth to her and husband Daniel Bryan’s second child, a son named Buddy.
Preparing For WWE Return
Although, Brie and Nikki are enjoying motherhood, the two are itching to get back inside the ring. The sisters said they’re open to a WWE return, and Nikki was working with doctor to get medically cleared.
So when can fans expect the Bellas back in WWE? Well, according to the latest reports, it may be happening later this year. Brie and Nikki are rumored to be making their comeback sometime in the fall. As for the plans for the twins upon their return, Nikki said she and Brie will be coming for the women’s tag titles.
