Heidi Klum was all open blazer, no shirt to big-time tease that she’s joining the reboot of “Sex & The City” ahead of the weekend. The “Project Runway” judge and supermodel made it a giant joke on her Instagram as she both hinted at slipping into Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones character and gave the ‘Gram a good old April Fool’s, with the German star’s video coming as a big fashionista and cleavage display, complete with the HBO series’ iconic opening theme music. Check it out below.
Scroll for the video. It comes as the iconic ’90s and 2000s series, starring Sarah Jessica-Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Kim Cattrall gears up for a giant reboot, and it looks like Heidi Klum is a fan – enough to joke about joining the show. On April 1, the blonde updated her Instagram poolside and with her jaw-dropping figure on show, posing in a white blazer worn shirtless and open, plus a matching skirt and high heels as she held a cocktail.
Heidi, who had even picked SJP’s Carrie Bradshaw’s favorite Cosmopolitan cocktail, made it pretty clear the whole thing was a joke, with “April fools” written in black ink across her forehead. “Just kidding,” the mom of four wrote as she tagged the Instagram handles of the NYC-set series’ former cast.
Coming right before it, though, was a photo of all the cast minus Samantha, with Heidi placing a snap of herself in Jones’ place. The caption here definitely hinted towards a join. See the photo after the video.
Taking to her caption, Klum wrote: “How do you say Samantha in German?” then adding: “It has been SO hard to keep this a surprise but I can finally share that I am joining the new season of Sex and the City! I can’t wait to toss back some Cosmos and kick up my Manolos with these amazing.”
The “America’s Got Talent” judge, who has comments on her Instagram disabled, wasn’t able to generate a reaction, bar likes. More photos below.
“Sex & The City,” recently shouted out by celebrities including singer Britney Spears and reality star Savannah Chrisley, is, like all things ’90s, coming back. The series, which focused on the lives of four women navigating their 30s and 40s in the Big Apple, became known for its forward-thinking, high-fashion outfits, weekend brunches, and, of course, Carrie and Mr. Big. The series also touched on real issues including breast cancer, something Kim’s Samantha character faced in later seasons. No reboot release date has been announced.
