Hollywood Stars SHOCKED By Announcement 'Bridgerton' Star Is Out For Season Two!

By Mike Walters

The world is in shock after Netflix announced the main star of it's show 'Bridgerton' -- Regé-Jean Page-- will NOT be returning for season two, and A-list stars are voicing their displeasure with the terrible news!

That's right -- you hear this one correctly -- The Duke of Hastings is not returning to the popular television show after just one season. It's unclear why the actor or production company decided to go in a different direction on this one, and they broke the news in pure 'Bridgerton' style with a pamphlet from Lady Whistledown herself!

You Gotta See This!

See Lady Whistledown's Shocking Letter!

The letter reads:

Dearest Readers,

While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton's quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke Of Hastings. We'll miss Simon's presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgeton family. Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer -- more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear. “Bridgerton” fans, the time has come to bid adieu to Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings.

'The Ride Of A Lifetime'

Regé-Jean Page doubled down on the news and posted his own statement about the unfortunate revelation, saying, " The ride of a lifetime."

He continued, "It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your Duke. Joining this family - not just on-screen, but off-screen too. Our incredibly creative and generous cast, crew, outstanding fans - it’s all been beyond anything I could have imagined. The love is real and will just keep growing ❤️❤️❤️💫."

As you can imagine, everyone is going NUTS over the announcement, including Hollywood's biggest stars -- who are not holding back on social media!

Hollywood STUNNED By 'Bridgerton' Announcement

Drew Barrymore was one of the first to voice her displeasure with the news, tweeting a picture of herself in a funeral veil (crying) alongside co-host Ross Matthews who is doing the same.

"When you find out Regé-Jean Page (@regejean) won't be in @bridgerton Season 2," she wrote alongside the photo. Scroll To See It!

Of course, she included a bunch of loudly crying face emojis which is pretty much how the rest of us feel about the situation. But, it should be noted -- it's possible, this is just a conflict for the upcoming season -- and the actor will be back for Season 3. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
