Britney Spears’ father is asking the court to approve his compensation for being her conservator — which includes $16,000 a month as a salary, and $2,000 to maintain an office — and listed his ‘daily’ job requirements to prove he is worth the money.
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Jamie Spears is requesting approval of his payments, and confirmation they will continue to get paid until a judge orders otherwise.
In a declaration, filed by Spears, he outlines the daily activities which require his full-time attention as her “conservator” and depending on what side of the “FreeBritney” argument you are on, this one may surprise you.

“I continue to do my best to keep current regarding the music, advertising, and entertainment business, in the areas of financial investing and investments, and in legal matters, for Ms. Spears’ benefit,” Jamie said.
In the past few years, Britney’s father says he continuously worked with her legal team and the new personal conservator to “address and resolve matters” concerning the pop star including, “travel arrangements which are complicated and require advance, detailed planning to protect Ms. Spears’ safety and privacy, as well as overseeing and facilitating payments and reimbursements …related to Ms. Spears’ medical expenses.”
“My duties also included overseeing and coordinating Ms. Spears’ legal matters which touched upon entertainment, music, business opportunities, litigation, trial and/or the resolution of disputes, and publicity/brand-related matters,” Jamie continued.

In the new filings, several law firms and attorney’s filed their own documents requesting payment for services in the past few years, which are well over a million dollars.
Interestingly, Jamie lists his involvement with the conservatorship case itself as one of his line items. “I spoke regularly with my conservatorship counsel to stay informed of the matters in the ongoing conservatorship proceeding, including reviewing all pleadings filed in the conservatorship, and preparing for and appearing at all hearings,” he wrote.
Britney’s father also says he spends a “significant amount of time” on her “investments,” saying, “I participated in extensive communications with various advisors and industry experts in analyzing and modifying investment strategies to address changes in Ms. Spears’ working status and fluctuations in the economy.”
According to Britney’s dad, he also handles “intellectual property and brand-related issues that included reviewing back-up documentation relating to expenses and requests for various payments, addressing trademark and patent issues, reviewing book and magazine proposals, sponsorship opportunities, marketing, merchandising, building, and protecting Ms. Spears’ brand, dealing with insurance issues, maintaining vehicles, and interfacing with Ms. Spears’ business managers and entertainment lawyers on a daily or near-daily basis on these types of various and numerous issues.”
Shockingly, he also claims to be working “extensively with Ms. Spears’ team and my attorneys to monitor social media and address negative and potentially destructive publicity, and minimize any harm to Ms. Spears’ brand.”
As we said, Jamie is asking the judge to approve the compensation for the work with his daughter — and as you know, she has formally asked for him to step down as conservator of her person. Plus, it should be noted, the amount to be paid was already approved previously by the conservatorship judge.
