Taraji P. Henson said she did everything she could, but she was ultimately unable to save her beloved dog K-Ball‘s life.
The “Hidden Figures” actress announced the death of her French Bulldog on Monday, March 29. K-Ball suffered from breathing issues his whole life, and, unfortunately, multiple surgeries were unable to correct the issue. “I couldn’t watch you suffer any longer,” she wrote on social media. The star revealed that she treated K-Ball to all the finest luxuries during their short three years together and said that she is emotionally struggling after her loss.
“Had to say good bye forever to my baby @kballhenson I AM GOING TO MISS MY SWEET BABY SO MUCH,” she wrote on Instagram.
The “Empire” actress said that her cute pooch was much more than a pet. “KBall was so good to me. Gave me three beautiful love filled years,” Taraji continued. “KBall you calmed mommy’s anxiety. What will I do without you. Mommy tried everything to save your life. EVERYTHING!!! I couldn’t watch you suffer any longer.”
“Life was rough on this lil guy,” Henson wrote before describing the medical issues that many French Bulldogs suffer from. “He had breathing issues that needed to be addressed. His trachea was the size of a straw so breathing and eating and playing was becoming very difficult for him. He had two surgeries and his Lil body couldn’t take it.”
Taraji described the dog’s extravagant life during the past few years. “I gave you the best three years ever. Private jets vacations shopping movie sets photo shoots the best dog food money could buy and ALL OF MY LOVE!!! Jesus this is hard and yes I AM A WRECK!!! #RIPKBallHenson ??????????.”
Henson’s and K-Ball’s love affair started in December 2017, shortly after the loss of her dog of 16 years, Uncle Willie. In January 2018, Taraji gushed about K-Ball on “Live with Kelly and Ryan.” “I got a baby, and his name is K-Ball,” she said with a smile before explaining that the little guy got his name because he looked like a “little baby football player and … Yoda.” “He’s just so handsome, I just love him,” she said at the time.
