Hilary Duff has just given birth to her third child, and she shared a heartwarming photo of the family taking part in a water birth — including her 2-year-old daughter who joined her in the tub!
The ‘Lizzie McGuire’ star shared the stunning photo on Instagram which features her sitting in a tub which appears to be set up in the family home. In the picture, Duff’s husband Matthew Koma is holding her head as her 9-year-old son, Luca Cruz, looked on.
But, shockingly, in the family portrait, the couple’s daughter 2-year-old Banks Violet is sitting in the water with mommy!
You Gotta See This!
“Mae James Bair – We LOVE you beauty 3-24-21,” Hilary captioned the photo.
As you can see, it appears the emotional photo is taken just moments after the baby was born — and the family is crowded around the new arrival. It’s unclear how long Hilary’s daughter was in the tub with mom, but what an experience. Either way, at one point, the youngster jumped into the labor tub and posed with her little sister!
Hilary Duff posted another photo of the newborn and the baby’s feet on Instagram — See Below.
“Mae Mae,” she captioned the photo.
The television star included a picture of the 2-year-old in her own bathtub, with the caption “I’m a big sister ……. marinating on how I feel about that!” It appears to be taken after the exciting home birth. See The Photo…Below.
As we reported, Hilary kept the details of her pregnancy under wraps until the baby’s arrival. “We had a gender reveal with Banks and it was such a fun memory,” she told People.
Adding, “Unfortunately, during these times we felt it wasn’t really appropriate. The way we are creating some excitement within the family is to wait to find out the sex on the baby’s birthday!”

It appears Hilary guessed wrong while trying to determine the baby’s gender, saying, “Honestly, I’m just saying boy. I really don’t have a strong feeling about it either way, which made me feel guilty for the longest time. I was like, ‘I should know, it’s inside my body. It’s my baby, I should know.'”
She continued, “I don’t know, and now I’m okay with just not knowing. But I think it’s a boy.” But, a healthy baby girl is perfect with the family we are certain.
