Leah McSweeney is said to be pushing for her former “Real Housewives of New York City” star and longtime friend, Tinsley Mortimer, to return to the Bravo series following her messy split from Scott Kluth.
On March 25, an insider spoke to Page Six, claiming that McSweeney, who was added to the show in late 2019 for season 12, has been “begging her to come back.”
“They’d have the best time,” the source explained, adding that Mortimer would also “have great chemistry” with newbie Eboni K. Wiliams.
Tinsley Mortimer Won’t Be Seen On ‘RHONY’ Season 13
According to Page Six, production on the upcoming 13th season of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” which premieres in May, is already wrapped. So, when it comes to a position on the new episodes, Mortimer doesn’t have much of a chance.
That said, with her long-running ties to the ladies of the show, a return for season 14 seems like something producers of the show would consider, at least when it comes to a cameo or “friend” role for Mortimer.
Leah McSweeney Bonded With Tinsley Mortimer Amid ‘RHONY’ Season 12
While McSweeney bonded quickly with Mortimer when the two of them were filming season 12 in 2019, Mortimer left the show that same year after Kluth proposed to her in Chicago.
As fans of “The Real Housewives of New York City” may’ve heard, Kluth allegedly gave McSweeney an ultimatum about their future, telling her that if she wanted to get married, she would have to leave her full-time position and move to Chicago, where she is based.
Following news of Mortimer and Kluth’s breakup, McSweeney shaded Kluth on social media with a “Sex and the City” meme that featured Charlotte York cursing the day Mr. Big was born.
Tinsley Mortimer Could Be Preparing For A Reality Comeback
Insiders connected to Bravo previously told Page Six that Mortimer could be preparing herself for a “Real Housewives of New York City” comeback but at the point, she hasn’t yet contacted anyone associated with the network.
As for why she may be laying low, sources close to Mortimer have claimed that she is still very much heartbroken over the end of her engagement to Kluth, which he announced earlier this month.
Last week, one particular friend of Mortimer’s told Page Six that Kluth treated Mortimer poorly for years.
Scott Kluth Is Up To His Old Tricks
“He tortured her. For years he would break up with her and get back together with her and break up with her again. But when he proposed, she believed he meant it. She left her career, she left her livelihood, she left her home, and suddenly he’s back to his old tricks again and he called off the engagement,” the friend said.
To see more of McSweeney and her cast mates, don’t miss the highly-anticipated premiere of “The Real Housewives of New York City” season 13, which will air on Bravo on May 4 at 9/8c.
