Britney Spears is asking that her father be stripped of his rights as her conservator, permanently, while making the point that she might ask to be freed from the case in the future.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Britney Spears is asking that Jodi Montgomery be appointed as full-time conservator or her person, a job that she has done for the past two years. As we reported, her father stepped down after claiming he was unable to fill the role due to medical issues.
But, we broke the story, the change in conservators came after Jamie was investigated by law enforcement for a violent incident with one of Britney’s children.
Now, Britney is asking that her father resigns from the position for good.

It appears this may be the beginning of the legal process of Britney Spears getting the entire conservatorship case dismissed. The pop star would still need to petition the court and get a judge’s approval before she is completely free. As you know, there has been a groundswell of fans with the #FreeBritney movement who are calling for it to happen sooner than later.
Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, remains the co-conservator of her estate — working alongside Bessemer Trust Company of the star’s business and finances.
Interestingly, the documents lay out exactly what the conservators are in charge of handling in Britney’s life and it is quite a list.

According to the filing, Jodi Montgomery will have “The power to restrict and limit visitors by any means, provided that the conservator of the person shall not prevent (Britney) from meeting with her court-appointed counsel, except to approve the location for any meetings or visits in advance of any such meetings or visits, and to arrange for appropriate security, in order to protect the (Britney.)
Plus, she will have “The power to retain caretakers for the conservatee on a 24 hour/7 day basis. The power to retain security guards for (Britney).
The powers of Britney’s conservator also include dealing with her medical condition.
“The power to communicate with treating and other expert medical personnel regarding (Britney) and to have access to any and all records regarding the conservatee’s medical treatment, diagnosis, and testing,” it states.
Adding, “The conservator of the person shall have access to any and all records regarding (Britney’s) psychiatric treatment, diagnosis and testing.”
At this point, the filing is only a request, and the judge in Britney’s conservatorship case will need to sign off on it. Plus, Jamie Spears has the right to oppose the change and could fight the permanent appointment of Jodi Montgomery.
