Emily Ratajkowski‘s latest breastfeeding picture doesn’t suck… at least according to other celebrity moms!
The model mother shared a beautiful picture of herself providing some much-needed nourishment to her son, Sylvester Apollo Bear, on Wednesday, March 24. The photo featured Emily with her shirt pulled up over one shoulder as the little guy latched on… she made sure to blur the photo to obscure her child’s face and keep the pic Instagram safe. The cute pic earned praise from some expecting celebrities and others that are already on the motherhood journey.
Ratajkowski sweetly captioned the photo, “Beautiful boy,” and it quickly racked up close to a million “likes” in under an hour. Her fans and famous friends spread emoji love in the comments section. Expecting mother, Halsey, shared a sad face ? emoji to convey how she can barely take the cuteness, while Irina Shank left red heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️? emojis.
Emily and her husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard, welcomed baby Sly into the world on March 8, which she described as “the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life.” She followed up her initial announcement post with a few candid shots from that magical morning. “In between pushes/first moments with Sly. Life!” she captioned a collage of images from the hospital.
While many fans didn’t dare tarnish the first few days of Emily being a mother, a segment of fans criticized the model for showing off her postpartum body. Emily appeared on the official IG account for her clothing line, Inamorata, and allegedly showed off her body 11 days after giving birth. While it’s obvious that Emily can do/post anything she wants, some people thought she was bragging and showing off.
“Not taking away from her positive body experience postpartum, but this is not the typical experience of most women,” a fan commented on her company’s post. “So if you’re seeing this and this isn’t how you look 11 days after giving birth… or even a year after…. it’s all good. Everybody is beautiful and perfect.”
“Pretty Little Liars” star Claire Holt allegedly had a strong reaction to Emily’s postpartum body. “I try not to be the Grinch on here, but I really wanna say something cos it’s annoying me,” she said via her IG story. “If you post a picture of your completely flat stomach 10 days after having a baby and call that body positivity, to me that’s the same as posting a picture of the millions of dollars in your bank account and calling that success positivity.”
Holt continued, “It might be true, but it makes other people feel sh—y about themselves, and it’s not normal, and you’re an outlier, and you’re lucky. So maybe don’t show that part? Can we just use Instagram to try and make people feel included and not feel sh*t about themselves?”
