One of the biggest Esport teams around has just inked the cheesiest deal of all time … because they partnered with Hot Pockets!
NRG Esports has announced a partnership with the classic microwave snack company, which is actually a division of Nestle. Hot Pockets has entered into an entitlement partnership with NRG that will essentially give them creative control over many of the team’s “endeavors.”
“The cultural tie between Hot Pockets and gaming is undeniable, so partnering with a premier eSports organization was a natural fit for us,” said Michael Bull, the associate brand manager at Nestle.
According to a media release about the deal, the partnership ensures, “Hot Pockets holds the exclusive naming rights for NRG’s Content Castle, with an official re-naming coming soon.”
In a fun teaser video the gamers made to announce the partnership, they gave a sneak peek into the changes Hot Pockets may be gunning to make.
Along with the Content Castle re-naming, the deal also makes sure the NRG team will be decked out in cheesy gear, as “NRG’s pro players will wear jerseys emblazoned with the Hot Pockets brand and fans will be able to get their hands on special customizable promotional jerseys to celebrate the high-level gaming, delicious snacks, and this partnership.”
