Kylie Jenner Drops $5,000 Amid GoFundMe Donation Backlash

By Gary Trock

Kylie Jenner is once again getting dragged by the Internet after the billionaire mogul hit up Instagram to bring awareness for a GoFundMe set up for a celebrity makeup artist who sustained major injuries in a car accident. Amid the backlash she received from those who felt Kylie should have just covered all of the expenses, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashian" star quietly made a donation to her friend's cause, along with other celebrities, like Bella Thorne and Bebe Rexha.

GoFundMe for Samuel Rauda

The drama for Kylie Jenner started after the star innocently posted the GoFundMe for Samuel Rauda, which initially had a goal set of $10,000.

"Sam underwent major surgery on Sunday, 3/14/21. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him," a message from the Rauda family read on the GoFundMe page.

It continued, "I know he is loved by many. Your donations will help cover the cost of his medical expenses and whats to come. Please know that a donation of any amount is greatly appreciated."

Probably not receiving the reaction she was expecting, Kylie Jenner was slammed by users on social media who felt the billionaire mogul should not be fielding out donation requests to her followers.

"It’s the fact that Kylie Jenner owns purses that cost more than her close friends emergency brain surgery and she’s out here begging poor people to donate to his Go Fund Me page......... that doesn’t sit right with me," one person wrote on Twitter.

"Kylie Jenner bought her toddler a $15,000 handbag but is asking her fans for money," another Twitter user criticized.

Kylie and Other Stars Donate

Although Kylie Jenner did not publicize her own donation, the reality star did drop $5,000 towards the makeup artist's GoFundMe.

Other stars who Samuel Rauda has worked with in the past also donated, including Bella Thorne, Sofia Richie, Bebe Rexha and "Shah's of Sunset" star Lilly Ghalichi.

As of Sunday afternoon, the GoFundMe account had soared near $100,000.

Kylie has not spoken about the backlash over the GoFundMe, but perhaps the attention she brought to the situation is the reason the donations began pouring in.
