Ellen DeGeneres is about to go wild with her new business deal because she’s going to be focused on creating a whole slate of content focused on nature, wildlife, and the planet. Discovery made the announcement Wednesday morning that the longtime host of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” has inked a multi-year deal to develop and produce content across multiple Discovery networks and brands.
The news about DeGeneres’ long-term deal comes as the star is also revealed to be the narrator of the upcoming documentary, “ENDANGERED.”
According to a statement from Discovery, Ellen DeGeneres will be focused on content that highlights the natural world and amazing wildlife.
“Exclusive to Discovery in the natural history space, DeGeneres will develop and produce a variety of specials, series, and documentaries that will bring her unique charm, passion and wit both in front of and behind the camera,” the statement reads.
The talk show host will also be featured on both the Discovery Channel and also on their new subscription-based streaming service, discovery+.
Ellen DeGeneres, who has made a bounce back after controversy erupted on the set of her talk show, is already marveling about all the amazing things she’s about to experience with her new partnership:
“I’m so excited to partner with Discovery. I’ll get to discover all kinds of things about incredible animals. For instance, did you know the Ring-Tailed Lemur’s tail is longer than its body? I think that’s his tail. I hope that’s his tail. I have so much to discover with Discovery,” DeGeneres said in a statement.
