TikTok stars Griffin Johnson and Josh Richards are joining an impressive list of A-list celebrities who are taking part in an initiative to get more people planting home gardens. The two young influencers, who have been actively expanding their businesses beyond social media, have joined the Million Gardens Movement, a collaboration between Mardern Farmer and Big Green, a non-profit started by Elon Musk’s brother, Kimbal Musk.
The move by the stars is to help ensure everyone has the knowledge to start their own gardens and help create a more sustainable world for us all.
According to a release from the Million Gardens Movement:
“Food philanthropist and Publisher of Modern Farmer, Frank Giustra has joined forces with food entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Big Green, Kimbal Musk to launch the movement to help fight hunger, support climate action, and increase resilience.”
The statement continues, “They have committed their teams, networks, and personal resources to support the Million Gardens Movement so that every family in North America will have the opportunity to grow their own food.”
Josh Richards and Griffin Johnson are joining some pretty big names in the Million Gardens Movement, including Harrison Ford, Zooey Deschanel, Salma Hayek, ‘Property Brother’ star Jonathan Scott, Nicole Scherzinger, musician Aloe Blacc and of course, Kimbal and Elon’s mother and supermodel, Maye Musk.
A description of the program states that donations to the Million Gardens Movement will “support the first distribution of 5,000 Little Green Gardens by Big Green to underserved families in cities across the United States.”
