Drake is already regarded by fans worldwide as one of the best artists of all-time. He continues to break records every year as he does this effortlessly with every release. Over a week ago, Drake put out his “Scary Hours 2” EP as it reportedly sold a whopping 970,000 units in its first week. Now, the Toronto superstar has just broke another very impressive record on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This is after the three songs from this new EP both debuted in the top three.
Drake Now Has 45 Top 10 Hits On Hot 100 Chart
“What’s Next” debuted at No. 1, “Wants and Needs” feat. Lil Baby was at No. 2, and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” feat. Rick Ross are in the top three and this marks the first time ever that an artist has three songs debut in the top three of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. According to Chart Data, Drake also now has 45 top 10 hits on the Hot 100. This makes him the first artist to ever reach this mark on this chart.
‘Scary Hours 2’ Came Through For Drake Fans After His Album Was Delayed
“Scary Hours 2” obviously didn’t disappoint listeners at all. Fans loved what they heard on “What’s Next” as this record was leaked a week before the EP was put out. The chemistry with Lil Baby was also praised along with Rick Ross. These are two other stars that Drake has collaborated with frequently. The release of Scary Hours 2 also fed the hunger of fans for new music by Drake after his “Certified Lover Boy” album was delayed in January. It was initially announced in October on Drake’s birthday.
No New Release Date Has Been Set For ‘Certified Lover Boy’
As of now, there is still no new date for when “Certified Lover Boy” will finally be out. There are rumors on social media that it will be sometime in April but that hasn’t been confirmed by Drake yet. In February, Drake reached over 500 million Spotify streams and that is a sign that fans were hungry for new music after CLB’s delay and that showed when the “Scary Hours 2” EP came out. Hopefully, CLB does finally arrive sometime in the spring though. Drake’s last studio album was “Scorpion” back in June 2018.
Drake Was Nominated For Three Awards At 2021 GRAMMYs
Drake also received three nominations for the 2021 GRAMMYs over the weekend. He was in the categories for Best Rap Song, Best Music Video, and Best Rap/Sung Performance. His “Laugh Now Cry Later” single featuring Lil Durk was in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Performance nominations. The “Life Is Good” music video by Future featuring Drake was in the Best Music Video category.
