The Weeknd has reached so many impressive accolades over the past year. Many consider the Toronto native to be the hottest artists in the world now as well. He’s had another No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with his fourth studio album, “After Hours,” as well as two chart-topping singles in “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless.” Now, The Weeknd has reached another milestone and that is for Blinding Lights on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week.

According to Chart Data, “Blinding Lights” has now spent over a year on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which is a new record. This is after The Weeknd crossed the 53-week mark today. The Weeknd Had One Of The Hottest Albums Of 2020
“After Hours” marked The Weeknd‘s third consecutive No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. It contained 14 tracks in total and three additional ones were included on the deluxe edition. This album was also released nine days after the COVID-19 pandemic was declared as The Weeknd still decided to put it out to not let his fans down and they showed the love back.
The Weeknd Was Shockingly Not Nominated For Any GRAMMYs This Year
The 63rd annual GRAMMYs took place in Los Angeles last night as there was a huge snub months before it even took place. The nominations were originally announced in late November as it was revealed that The Weeknd wasn’t nominated at all. Shortly after that, he called the GRAMMYs “corrupt” and that he and his fans deserve transparency. Recently, he also told the New York Times that the GRAMMYs has “secret committees” and plenty of his fans agree with his statements.
The Weeknd Appeared To Be Over Grammy Snubs In January
A Billboard cover story was released in January which featured The Weeknd and his XO record label. At the time, The Weeknd explained how he seemed to be over the Grammy snubs and how he has three of their awards anyway. He also added that he isn’t good at speeches anyway. Fast forward to this point though, it’s evident that The Weeknd is still bothered by the snubs. Nobody should blame him, though. He arguably had the biggest year out of any artist in the world and didn’t get nominated for even one award at the GRAMMYs.
