Lala Kent announced the birth of her first child, daughter Ocean Kent Emmett, on Monday, March 15, and before doing so, she opened up about her excitement to become a mother to PEOPLE magazine.
“I have never been this excited for anything in my entire life,” Kent admitted. “There are things in life that I can picture, though giving birth and meeting my daughter is something I can’t. I have heard that this moment is unlike anything else. To think about that day coming excites me more than I can explain.”
Lala Kent Was Feeling ‘Emotional’ Before Welcoming Ocean
According to Kent, she was quite emotional in the weeks leading up to Ocean’s arrival.
“I feel emotional. It hasn’t been all ups, though,” the “Vanderpump Rules” cast member explained. “There have been times my hormones have gotten the best of me, mentally. But right now, in my final trimester, I am happy and excited, and so grateful. I’m ready to be a mama! The love I feel for her already is indescribable.”
Kent welcomed her baby girl with fiancé Randall Emmett.
Lala Kent Offered Advice To Her Future Daughter In 2020
When Kent and Emmett initially shared their baby news during an episode of their podcast, “Give Them Lala… With Randall,” in September of last year, Kent revealed what advice she would give to her future child.
“I think it would depend on if it was a boy or girl. I think I would be much more delicate if it was gonna be a chick but honestly, I think the one thing would be: ‘You’re safe with me. This world is really gonna try to kick your a** but I got you boo. I’m gonna kick its a** for you,'” Kent said at the time.
Lala Kent Was Forced To Cancel Her Wedding Due To The Pandemic
As PEOPLE magazine revealed, Kent and Emmett began dating in 2017 and got engaged in September 2018 while celebrating Kent’s birthday with a trip to Mexico.
Following their engagement, Kent and Emmett planned to tie the knot in Newport Beach, California, in April 2020 but due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were forced to cancel their plans.
“We are obviously saddened by this but for the ultimate safety of our families and guests, we have made the decision to wait and see how everything progresses,” they said in a statement at the time.
‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season Nine Remains Unconfirmed
“Safety will always be our number one priority,” they added.
Kent and Emmett have not yet shared any images of their baby’s face. Instead, in their Instagram announcements on Monday, they included a look only at the child’s hand.
While a ninth season of “Vanderpump Rules” has not yet been confirmed, SUR Restaurant, where the show is filmed, recently reopened its doors and a number of members of the cast, including Tom Sandoval and Scheana Shay, have been seen at the venue.
