Ozzy Osbourne Reportedly 'Working Very Hard' For Farewell Show Amid Health Battle

Ozzy Osbourne wants one last hurrah before biting the dust, and he plans to achieve it despite his numerous health problems.

The former Black Sabbath frontman needs no introduction to the rock and heavy metal industry. His longevity and success have earned him nicknames like the "Godfather of Metal" and the "Prince of Darkness."

However, his days of selling out shows and giving exhilarating performances came to an end due to his declining health. Ozzy Osbourne has reportedly acknowledged that he is far from his prime, but that has not stopped him from gunning for a final show.

According to a source, Ozzy had come to terms with his old age and declining health, which was why he had his heart set on a final concert. "It's like his curtain call. He is very aware of his mortality and that this will be his final show," they claimed.

The insider noted that Ozzy's loved ones were worried about him pushing himself too far to make his last wish a reality. However, they did not discourage him and were supportive as long as he got the all-clear from doctors about the performance.

"Ozzy talks about his farewell show all the time – this isn't some random idea – he has his heart set on it, so even though it may seem like a herculean task given his health troubles, his family and friends are pulling together to make it happen for him," the informant told In Touch.

Ozzy's loved ones had plenty of reasons to be worried about his final concert as the rockstar was not only in his late 70s but suffering from various health problems. Despite the daunting situation, the source stressed that the singer was resolved to perform again, saying:

"He's working very hard to get ready and is very hopeful and determined, but only time will tell if he can truly pull this off or if it's just a dream at this point because the reality is he does have Parkinson's, and it has progressed."

If he could make it to the stage one last time, the insider believed Ozzy would enjoy the moment with his Black Sabbath members. They noted the reunion would "be extremely emotional because of Ozzy's decline, but they want to do it for him."

One of Ozzy's bandmates, Geezer Butler, confirmed he would happily join the singer onstage if he could perform again. "Ozzy was talking to me about when he does his farewell concert, which he still wants to do. He's dying to still get out there and play," he revealed, adding:

"And he suggested, at his very final concert, for the four of us to get up on stage and maybe do three or four songs together. And that would be it, finished."

Butler claimed Ozzy "gets so excited talking about it and planning it," a sentiment the source also echoed. "He's not in great shape, but putting this concert together and having it to motivate him has been good. It's given him something to look forward to," they explained.

In October, The Blast reported that Ozzy had revealed he had broken his sobriety amid his health battle. He shared the news on his "Madhouse Chronicles Podcast," revealing he used "a bit of marijuana from time to time."

Ozzy confessed that he was "tempted to return to stronger drugs" because of his health problems. However, he had his wife, Sharon Osbourne, to thank for stopping him from returning to his dark past of alcohol and drug addiction.

"I am lucky my wife kicks my butt all the time, and she would make life so difficult. Even with marijuana, she will f-cking find it and get rid of it," he explained. Ozzy also revealed that he once tried Ketamine and enjoyed a "spark," but "that thing came back and weighted" his brain.

During an emotional interview in 2023, Ozzy reflected on his long life and how he survived a tumultuous history fueled with booze and drugs. The Blast shared that he wondered how he outlived his late "drinking buddies" like Lemmy and Pete Way.

"I've been doing a lot of reflection while I've been laid up, and all my drinking partners, I've realized they're all f–king dead," Ozzy confessed. He questioned the reason behind his longevity, noting, "I should have been dead before loads of them. Why am I the last man standing?"

The rock icon stressed that he had experienced numerous near-death experiences and had undergone multiple operations amid his health battle. Despite everything, he survived and outlived some of his closest pals.
