One of the most popular rising stars, Nate Setto, is finally dropping his debut album, ‘City Boy,’ and many already are comparing the singer to Chris Brown!
The 27-year-old Detroit native caught the attention of music fans with his hit singles, “Want Me”, “On Tonight”, both of which are upbeat pop and songs you can dance to at a party. Think ‘Turn Up The Music!’ The EP is almost completely produced and will finally drop sometime this month.
In his music, Setto expresses his most vulnerable and honest struggles too, including his prior battle with alcohol. Plus, the kid can flat-out move!

“For years I wasn’t happy in my life, I was getting pressure from everywhere to be someone I’m not and I was constantly surrounded by my own negative thoughts. This caused anxiety and depression in my life, and I dealt with that by drinking. It got bad too. I was drinking all day and not telling anyone what I was going through,” he said in a recent interview.
Adding, “My parents own a liquor store so it was just really easy. I would even be drunk at the gym. One day it all just caught up to me and I had to make a choice to put myself on a better path. For the last year, I can proudly say I have overcome these demons.”

Nate discussed the evolution of his music in the new ‘City Boy’ album saying, “Most of my fans know my music for being a great time, something you can dance to, party to, have fun with. And that’s still true. My music will make you move and have a great time. But in ‘City Boy’ I also want to share my full story,” he said.
He continued, “Depression, anxiety, and substance abuse are very real things that millions of people are fighting every day. I think by sharing my experience it can remind a lot of people they aren’t alone and help push some important conversations.”
Nate grew up in Flint, Michigan and began making music when he was 7. By age 13, he was surrounded by drugs, prostitution, and violence on his daily commute. But, it didn’t sway him from dreams of becoming a superstar. Today, his music in being played in clubs around the country.
