Wendy Williams Recently Spotted At Her Son's Graduation In Miami

Wendy Williams was seen attending her son's graduation from Florida International University in Miami on Thursday. The 60-year-old former talk show host shares Kevin Hunter Jr., 24, with her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter.

Williams was diagnosed with progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in 2023, and her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, placed her in a care facility. The daytime diva has rarely been seen in public since her diagnosis and reportedly has limited contact with her family.

However, Williams was all smiles as she watched Kevin Jr. graduate in Miami.

Williams was in a motorized scooter at the graduation ceremony, but that didn't keep the former talk show host from looking her best, sporting a sequined dress paired with Chanel boots, per PEOPLE.

The diva's scooter also sported a Louis Vuitton cup holder. Williams was also wearing her signature "W" necklace, as well as other fabulous jewelry.

Also in attendance were Williams' 93-year-old father, Thomas Williams Sr., and her sister, Wanda Finnie. According to The New York Post, Kevin Jr. graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs at FIU.

The proud mother was seen wiping tears away as she witnessed her only child graduate from college. Kevin Jr. reportedly took time off from school to care for his mother in 2021 and 2022 as her health struggles became more severe. Williams previously shared with the public that she suffered from alcohol abuse and was also open about her struggles with Graves' disease and lymphedema.

Kevin said in the Lifetime documentary, "Where Is Wendy Williams?" that his family was being kept away from Williams, and he worried that her guardian did not have her best interests in mind.

"I feel like the guardian has not done a good job of protecting my mom," he said.

In November, the guardian announced that Williams was "cognitively impaired, permanently disabled and legally incapacitated” by dementia.

In 2019, Williams filed for a divorce from Hunter Sr. after learning that he'd fathered a child with another woman.

Williams had to pay her ex-husband alimony. However, Morrissey cut him off and in April, she filed a lawsuit against him demanding that he repay Williams $112,500 in alimony. The guardian claimed that Hunter had been "overpaid" due to the autopay function set on Williams' bank account.

"The Wendy Williams Show" was canceled in 2022 as Wendy dealt with her mounting health issues. The show ran for 13 seasons as Williams dished celebrity tea from her infamous purple chair.

Williams had hoped to launch a podcast called "The Wendy Experience" back in August of 2022, however, the podcast never came to fruition. In the Lifetime documentary, Kevin said he felt that his mother had the wrong people around her who had taken advantage.

"My mom, she always talks about how she wants to work, but I feel as though she's worked enough," he said. "She has people around her that are 'yes people' and allowing this to continue."

Williams and her son were also seen together shopping in New Jersey last August. The duo was photographed at Bolingo Balance, an African Bio mineral cell food store in Newark. The store is owned by Victor Bowman, the son of herbalist Alfredo "Dr. Sebi" Bowman.

A photograph was shared on the store's Instagram account with the caption, "Much love to Wendy Williams and her son @topfloor_kev I remember when I met Kevin in Usha village, my dad told me I want you to meet Wendy’s son. At that time, we were the only ones of the same age in Usha."

Wendy was reportedly “sharp, upbeat and aware" and "very bubbly” during the visit.
