Selena Gomez, despite what many may think, she is actually fully American. Born and raised in Texas, the 28-year-old “Natural” singer has adopted a bilingual approach to her music as of late, though it is more likely this is to play on current trends more than anything.
In fact, fellow pop-star Billie Eilish created her first Spanish song earlier this year to the surprise of her fans, while her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber had already branched into the Spanish song market with his hit creation “Despacito.”
DJ Snake & Selena!
Selena’s latest hit titled, “Selfish Love’ included Spanish lyrics in addition to a largely English lyric lineup. The song was made in collaboration with famous artist DJ Snake, and was posted on his YouTube Vevo account. The song has received over 2 million views in about 24 hours since it went live, and currently resides at #13 on YouTube’s Trending list.
With mouthwatering eye-candy and fascinating story-telling that is used throughout the video, this may be her best Spanish song yet!
People Love It!

Moving On
Selena has often been perceived to be a bit of an emotional artist who communicates through her music more than anything else. She told Interview Magazine last year that she has experienced incredible fame, but at the cost of her own voice to some extent. Especially after breaking up with Justin, she found that she had to set the record straight more than she would like to admit.
She went on to share that she does her best to keep moving forward, not letting the past dictate her future!
‘How My Life’s Going’
Here’s what she told Interview Mag:
“My intention was never to become a tabloid. So when things kind of happened that way, it got out of control. And then I was like, “Wait, none of this is true.” The way the media has sometimes tried to explain things has made it sound really bad, when in reality there’s nothing wrong with the fact that I needed to go away or that I fell in love. I had to start opening up because people were taking away my narrative and it was killing me. I’m so young and I’m going to keep changing, and no one has the right to tell me how my life’s going.“
