Tony Buzbee, the lawyer for multiple alleged victims of Sean "Diddy" Combs, has been sued for giving a woman a sexually transmitted disease.
The suit, which was filed in the New York Supreme Court, claimed that the accuser had sex with the Texas-based attorney and began feeling "uncomfortable sensations around her groin" the next day.
In response to the suit, Tony Buzbee has refuted the allegations and described them as a smear campaign against him to discredit his Sean "Diddy" Combs litigations.
The Accuser Allegedly Slept With The Texas-based Attorney At A 5-Star-Hotel
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Buzbee was accused of infecting a "Jane Doe" with an STI after their first encounter in 2018.
In the filing, the female accuser claimed that she met the attorney through an "online conversation," after which he persuaded her to go on a date with him.
The date reportedly included dinner and a show somewhere in Houston, where Buzbee is based.
Once the date was over, they went to a room the attorney had booked in a five-star hotel and had sex after Buzbee seduced the female accuser.
The next day, the woman reportedly left the hotel, although it is unclear if she left in the company of Buzbee or alone. However, she claimed to have started to "feel uncomfortable sensations around her groin," which was later determined to be the symptoms of an STI by the doctor she consulted.
The Anonymous Woman Claims Tony Buzbee Knew He Was Infected
Elsewhere in the filing, Buzbee's accuser claimed that he knew he already had a venereal disease and chose not to disclose it to her.
She reached this conclusion after informing the attorney of her doctor's diagnosis, noting that he "seemed unsurprised," although he apologized to her.
Jane Doe also stated that Buzbee "vowed to provide free legal advice" as compensation and urged her not to inform anyone about the situation.
She went on to continue having sexual encounters with Buzbee and even accompanied him on trips to Panama and New York City.
However, throughout the rest of their encounters, he reportedly kept her on a "short leash" to ensure his secret never got out. She also claimed that he was "manipulative" during these ordeals.
Tony Buzbee Was Sued For Allegedly Withholding Settlement Payment
Aside from the accusations from Jane Doe, Buzbee was also sued by a man, Matthew Ray Thompson Jr., who claimed the attorney withheld his settlement payment.
Thompson alleged that he was injured in July 2023 while working as a deckhand on a vessel that struck a barge in the Houston Ship Channel and retained Buzbee to represent him in securing damages.
While the suit was pending, Thompson's firm reportedly made "automatic payments" to him, which were sent to Buzbee. However, Buzbee allegedly loaned those funds back to Thompson—funds that were rightfully his—and charged him a "high interest rate."
Thompson also claimed, "Buzbee held back more than 60% of the money he was owed -- and he alleges Buzbee has a rep for pulling this move with other clients, as well."
He added, "Buzbee has become rich by milking settlements with threats of negative attention from people who rely on their public reputations for livelihood."
The Lawyer Has Slammed The STI Lawsuit As A Criminal Conspiracy Amid His Legal Battles With Diddy
On his part, Buzbee has denied the allegations as a "criminal conspiracy to discredit and intimidate him from pursuing claims in the Diddy litigation."
He also called the lawsuit "false, frivolous, laughable and ridiculous and will be dismissed along like other suits."
Buzbee has faced other lawsuits since he began his legal battle with Diddy.
In November, he was accused of assaulting a woman whom he represented in a divorce case with a champagne flute during the process.
According to TMZ, the woman also claimed that Buzbee messed up her divorce case and committed malpractice, costing her millions of dollars.
At the time, Buzbee also slammed the suit, saying, "That's crazy fiction. Like really crazy. Like ridiculously crazy."
Tony Buzbee Accused Jay-Z Of Inciting Former Clients Against Him
The suits against Buzbee have come in the wake of the attorney being involved in a rape lawsuit that named rapper Jay-Z as one of the perpetrators.
Seemingly linking the scenarios, Buzbee recently told TMZ that Jay-Z had incited former clients to sue him and offered them money.
He told the outlet, "Jay-Z's investigators contacted more than forty former clients they apparently found on Venmo. They each were offered $1000 to sue me. We have the investigators caught on tape admitting they gave this 'client' money to bring this case."
He added, "We will be seeking state bar action against the lawyers involved because such conduct is a state law crime and also violates the ethical rules that govern lawyers."
