The “World of Dance” judge and his wife shared the exciting update on their Instagram accounts. Crystal shared a clip of the baby inside her belly moving around. She captioned the post with a simple heart emoji.
This is the first glimpse of their baby only weeks after the couple announced the news to the world. Earlier this month, they put up footage of Crystal showing off her growing bump while Ne-Yo held onto her stomach from behind.
All the happy news comes after they went through a rough patch last year. As The Blast previously reported, last year, Crystal and Ne-Yo were close to becoming divorced after dealing with several issues.
The first decided to split and spend time apart from each other.
Ne-Yo and Crystal were having problems for months prior to their breakup. They have been married since 2016 and share two kids, Shaffer Smith Jr (born 2016) and Roman Alexander-Raj Smith (2018).
Ne-Yo spoke about the split, “There’s nothing bad to say about her. She’s a fantastic woman, she’s the mother of my children. She’s always gonna be there. I will always respect that.”
Ne-Yo spoke highly of Crystal after they broke up. He said she even returned her wedding ring. In March 2020, Ne-Yo filed for divorce against Crystal in Georgia Court. He said their marriage was “irretrievably broken” without any chance of reconciliation.
In his petition, Ne-Yo asked the court to award him joint legal custody of their two kids and wanted their prenuptial agreement to be enforced. The singer claimed they signed a deal that covered everything from custody to child support.
A couple of days after he filed, Ne-Yo went back to court to inform them he was dismissing the case.
Crystal spoke out after the news broke of the divorce being filed. She posted a photo with her finger to her mouth captioned, “Sssssshhh. You’re telling my business wrong.” Ne-Yo liked her message and quickly liked the photo.
After the divorce was dismissed, Crystal and Ne-Yo started filming together under the same roof and worked out their issues. They seem to both be on the same page and living their best lives.
