Kodak Black has been a free man for over a month now. This is after being pardoned by Donald Trump in his final day as president. Kodak has since released a “Last Day In” single and has done plenty of charitable work as usual, just as he’d done while incarcerated.
Now, the Pompano Beach rapper has received some very good news from a judge regarding being able to travel. According to TMZ, he can officially leave Florida for work-related reasons.
Federal Judge Approved Kodak’s Motion
The report explained how Kodak originally filed a motion to be able to make these moves for his work. There are conditions that must be followed here as well though such as having to provide a “full itinerary” to his probation officer along with where he will be staying during his travels.
Kodak Had Been Serving A 46-Month Sentence
Kodak‘s recent legal woes started in May 2019 when he was arrested at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami by federal agents. This is after it was found that he falsified information on gun applications. He would be held in prison and in November of that year, he was hit with 46 months in prison for his crimes.
During Kodak’s incarceration, he claimed that he was abused by prison guards as well which led to him transferring facilities after he filed a lawsuit.
Kodak Has Been Making Charitable Impacts In Florida Lately
While in prison, Kodak had been helping out the Pompano Beach community, including during the holidays. This included getting 1,000 turkeys out to citizens along with a toy drive. Last month, Kodak offered to pay the future tuition of the children of two FBI agents who were shot and killed in Sunrise, FL. He also started a $100,000 scholarship in Meadow Pollack’s name, one of the students who was killed in the February 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. This happened at an event in Parkland, FL last month where all of the victims were honored. This scholarship will be at Nova Southeastern University’s Law School. Kodak was Pollack’s favorite rapper.
Kodak Is Engaged As Well
In mid-February, Kodak also stunned fans as it was revealed by his 19-year-old girlfriend, who goes by Mellow Rackz on Instagram, that the two got engaged. This was in an Instagram post by Mellow. A video was also posted by Kodak of a plane flying with a sign asking Mellow if she’d marry him. The signs were there as well as Kodak took to his Instagram stories to post screenshots of him listening to Jagged Edge’s classic hit single, “Let’s Get Married.”
