Bershan Shaw has officially joined the cast of “The Real Housewives of New York City” for its upcoming 13th season.
Months after Eboni K. Williams confirmed that she will be appearing on the new episodes, Shaw, an international motivational speaker, shared a statement with E! News in regard to her addition to the long-running reality series.
“I’m thankful to be a part of the Bravo team and I’m thrilled about the diversity and inclusion this season brings,” Shaw told the outlet on Tuesday, March 2. “I am a warrior for all people and so are the ladies.”

As fans of “The Real Housewives of New York City” may have seen, Shaw began spending time with the returning women of the show, who include Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, and Leah McSweeney, at the end of last year.
As E! News explained, Shaw and Williams will serve as the first Black stars featured on the Big Apple cast.
Williams confirmed her casting in October.
“NYC is filled with successful and dynamic Black women. I’m excited to join this legendary franchise as the first Black housewife,” she said at the time.

“[I] can’t wait to share a slice of life in this city that hasn’t been seen before. Anyone who’s aware of my work knows I don’t hold back. I’m going to keep it just as real here as I do everywhere else,” Williams continued.
E! News went on to say that when it comes to Shaw, she is someone who is very passionate about her career, not only in her motivational speaking, but also with her business coaching, acting, and role as a podcast host on “Buckle Up with Bershan Shaw.”
Bershan Shaw Has Worked With Les Brown And Tony Robbins
According to E! News, Shaw is no stranger to the spotlight and actually has ties to Les Brown and Tony Robbins, both of whom she’s shared a stage with.
Shaw has also beaten breast cancer, not once, but twice, and once said that her health journey “has prepared me to live my best life.”

In a statement shared on Instagram with her fans and followers, Dorinda Medley said, “What a journey this has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to Make it Nice. But all things must come to an end. This was a great outlet for me to heal when my late husband Richard passed away.”
Shaw and the returning members of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” along with her fellow newbie, Williams, are expected to make their season 13 debut on Bravo sometime later this year but a premiere date has not yet been set.
