Lady Gaga‘s dog walker was shot and critically injured, and the gunman allegedly made off with two of the singer’s French Bulldogs.
The star’s dog walker was targeted by thieves on Wednesday night, according to TMZ. Law enforcement sources tell the news outlet that the dog walker was out in Hollywood just before 10 PM when at least one person approached him. The altercation ended with the walker being shot, and the gunman allegedly took Koji and Gustav, Gaga’s dogs. A third Bulldog managed to escape and was recovered by a member of the singer’s security team. Gaga is now offering a $500,000 reward for the return of her beloved pets.
The singer has been in Rome, Italy, working on a movie, but Gaga was reportedly extremely upset by the news and immediately offered a $500,000 reward. Her rep confirmed the “no questions asked” reward to PEOPLE and encouraged anyone with information to contact [email protected]
The male dog walker was taken to the hospital and is currently in critical condition, an LAPD spokesperson told PEOPLE. The gunman was described as a male who used a semi-automatic handgun and was seen driving northbound towards Hollywood Boulevard.
Gaga announced that she adopted a new Bulldog in 2016 and later named him Gustav. “I’m proud to announce we added a new member to the #JOANNE family,” the singer wrote on Instagram at the time. “I haven’t named him yet but I call him both cowpig and moopig in the meantime! “I chose him last moment because my best friend since I was 4 @booconnor Chef extraordinaire of @thepomeroynyc bought him, we didn’t want them to be separated!”
