Britney Spears' Dad Jamie Says She Needs Him To Survive Amid Her Plea He Be Fired

As The Blast previously reported, Britney is in the middle of trying to have her father axed from the case. Her lawyer has informed the court the singer is refusing to work until Jamie is gone. Britney's mother Lynne backed up her daughter in court telling the judge they should have a third party put in control not Jamie. He predictably fired back at Lynne with a nasty statement.

Regardless, Jamie's lawyer is still pushing the idea that he is the best fit to take care of his daughter.

Jamie's lawyer claims Britney's father saved her life and he "worked tirelessly to protect her" over the years. His lawyer said, "He has collaborated with her to help her regain custody of her children. He has brought her finances back from disaster. And he's created a safe environment for her to live her life the way she wants, away from the media that cause her so much pain."

The lawyer claims the court has "carefully reviewed the conservatorship through a dedicated, trained, and highly experienced court investigator" and still kept the conservatorship in place.

Jamie loves to tout that he saved Britney from financial collapse. Britney's father told the court she was drowning in debt when he came on board. His lawyer said, ""Before the conservatorship, it was reported that Britney was making $40 million a year. When Jamie stepped in as conservator in 2008, court records show that Britney's assets were worth $2.8 million and she was in debt and facing lawsuits to the tune of millions of dollars."

Further, "So it's under Jamie's stewardship for the past 13 years that he's been able to restore Britney's finances to where they are today to nearly $60 million."
