Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney‘s bikini bronzing today came with the strictest of warnings. The 25-year-old vault queen, fresh from announcing she’s been snapped up by United Talent Agency, today updated her Instagram with the mother of all sunbathing sessions, but it came unusual. Opting out of posting for her 1.3 million followers, Maroney took to her lesser-known Glohé wellness account, a feed followed by a rising fanbase now sitting at just under 15,000. It was bikini action, but likewise health action. Check it out below.
Scroll for the photos. McKayla, who talks everything from fitness and caffeine to beauty on Glohé, made her Thursday focus a skincare one. The former acne sufferer, who has claimed that coffee makes her break out, today highlighted the benefits of sunscreen. Or rather, the dangers of not wearing any.
All cute in a black peep-hole sundress with a colorful blue bikini underneath, the London 2012 Olympics face showed off her best vacay vibes, smiling from under a hat and keeping safe in shades.
The curvy snaps, multiple, and bringing a knowing smile from the California native, were followed by a pink infographic, one showing a sun umbrella. “Wear SPF on cloudy days” was one reminder, as was “Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before sun exposure.”
Also reminding fans to reapply “after swimming,” McKayla then took to her caption with a few words of her own. “In my last post we talked about protecting our energy,
and today we’re going to talk about protecting our skin!,” she began.
McKayla, who cited her mom as her inspiration but stated her mother not to know much about skincare, added she’d been advised to put toothpaste on her face.
“This is cringe to me, but I literally didn’t wear sunscreen consistently up until 2016!! When my acne was really bad I used to sit out in the sun with nothing on. I thought it would help kill the bacteria??AHHH!! ?♀️ “
McKayla then revealed she’s “doubled up” on her skin protection obsession in the past year. See more photos below!
Maroney, who lives in a sunny state and likely has a lot of followers also West Coasting it up, ear-marked her beauty guru edge, adding:
“In the last year or so, I’ve definitely doubled up on my obsession with protecting my skin from the beautiful yet harmful rays of the sun with tinted sunscreens, cute hats, and sunglasses especially while driving!”
Meanwhile, over on Maroney’s TikTok, it’s kitchen workouts with frozen peas and bread. Scroll for the Gold Medal body using your freezer contents to stay in shape.
