After being faced with backlash for using an untrue rumor about the 20-year-old college student potentially using drugs in an effort to prove why Teresa shouldn’t have spread cheating rumors about her husband, Evan Goldschneider, Jackie touched base with Teresa’s daughter.
On February 19, the family’s attorney, James J. Leonard Jr., confirmed the conversation with a statement to Page Six.
Jackie Goldschneider’s Apology Was Believed To Be ‘Sincere’
“Jackie is a very smart woman, but what she did was incredibly stupid. Analogy or not, you’re referencing a young woman and putting her name in a sentence that includes the mention of drugs on national television, knowing that is a false statement,” the lawyer began.
“My understanding is that Jackie and Gia did communicate this week and Jackie apologized and I do believe her apology was sincere. Gia is an amazing young woman and both of her parents are very proud of her. This should have never happened,” he continued.
Gia Giudice Slammed Jackie Goldschneider’s Analogy As ‘Inexcusable’
In a tweet shared with her fans and followers after last week’s premiere of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” season 11 aired, Gia took aim at Jackie’s comment.
“Saying it was an analogy is making it excusable, it’s not. My character is now being questioned. My name was used to make a point,” she wrote. “No one should be used in that way, I am suffering the consequences for such an outlandish and untrue statement. While her marriage is happy & intact.”
Caroline Manzo Weighed In After Seeing What Had Happened On ‘RHONJ’
Following the airing of the show, a number of viewers of the hit Bravo series weighed in on social media, as did the series’ former cast member, Caroline Manzo, who made it clear that she found Jackie’s comment about Gia to be completely unacceptable.
“I did NOT watch, but I totally agree,” Manzo wrote to her online audience. “A Grown woman should not use that analogy about a minor EVER, especially about our beautiful [Gia Giudice]. Jackie needs to make a public apology immediately.”
Dina Manzo Also Spoke Out About Jackie Goldschneider
Dina Manzo, who was also previously featured on the show, spoke out as well, also demanding that Jackie offer a public apology to Teresa’s daughter.
Although Dina said in her statement, which was shared on Instagram, that no one should say such a thing about a minor, Gia is no longer a minor child.
To see more of Jackie and her cast mates, don’t miss new episodes of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” season 11 on Wednesday nights at 9/8c on Bravo.
