Cardi B's 'Invasion Of Privacy' Album Sets New Billboard 200 Streak Record

Cardi B continues to be one of the hottest artists in the world as fans wait for her forthcoming sophomore album. This is all while her "Up" single is dominating the charts as well. Her 2018 debut studio album, "Invasion Of Privacy," is also a huge fan-favorite as it continues to set new records on the charts as well as streams. The latest milestone comes on the Billboard 200 chart as it is a new streak record for how long it's been there.

'Invasion Of Privacy' Becomes First Album By A Female Rapper To Spend 150 Weeks On Billboard 200

According to Chart Data, "Invasion Of Privacy" now becomes the first album by a female rapper to spend 150 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. Back when this project was first released in April 2018, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It was led by hit singles such as "Bodak Yellow," "I Like It" feat. J Balvin and Bad Bunny, "Bartier Cardi," "Be Careful," and "Ring" feat. Kehlani.

Back in August, "Invasion Of Privacy" set another record on the Billboard 200. It became the longest-charting album by a female rapper in Billboard 200 history, per Chart Data.  At the time, the album was at 124 weeks. 

“It feels very good!" said Cardi on Twitter at the time regarding this accomplishment. Thank you guys for still supporting and listening to invasion of privacy.Working on my second album,it’s takin time but I want to make sure i put a amazing project.”

Cardi Is Red Hot Right Now With 'Up' Single

Earlier this month, Cardi released her first single of 2021 with "Up." At the same time, she also put out the music video for it which also earned high praise for its creativity. Up went on to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This became the highest debuting solo track by a female rapper this century. The last one to reach this mark was Lauryn Hill in 1998 with her classic "Doo Wop (That Thing)" single back in 1998.

This month, Cardi also spoke with Jimmy Fallon regarding when her sophomore album will finally be released. Here, she revealed that she is a few songs and music videos away from the album finally getting the green light to being released.

"I really want my next project or anything that’s related to music to just be my album,” Cardi said. “I just gotta focus on a couple of more songs and do all the music videos.”
