Brooke Shields is on the mend after breaking her femur, and the iconic actress is actually having to relearn how to walk. In the wake of her recovery journey, the star is getting some love and support from A-list celebrities, including Sharon Stone, Glenn Close and others.
The “Blue Lagoon” actress just revealed, on social media, that she had broken the largest bone in the human body, although she did not provide details on the accident that led to her medical emergency.
Sharing a video on Instagram with her 1.2 million followers, Brooke Shields revealed video of herself being supported on crutches while trying to maneuver herself down a hallway. Being guided by the careful instruction of a doctor, Shields can be heard carefully taking steps while making it clear that she was only putting about 20% of her weight on her “bad boy” leg.
“Broke my femur. Beginning to mend. No matter what your challenge is, make a positive choice, for yourself, to move forward,” the former “Suddenly Susan” star wrote.
Within moments of posting her video, Brooke Shield’s fans and celebrity friends began reaching out to offer words of encouragement.
“Brooke! So sorry! Courage…it’s in your blood. Sending love, Gkenn,” actress Glenn Close wrote … before popping back on to correct the misspelling of her name: “Oops! Glenn.”
Not only did Shields and Close appear in the 1978 movie, “Pretty Baby,” they are also distant cousins!
“Basic Instict” star Sharon Stone, who starred alongside Shields in the 1998 flick, “Junket Whore,” also sent her love and even offered to provide dinner.
“Oh crap honey I’m so sorry let me know how you’re doing R u home out west I can bring food,” Stone wrote.
Get well soon, Brooke!
