Kanye West's Mental Health Issues Will Not Affect Custody Agreement With Kim Kardashian

By Mike Walters

Kanye West's mental health issues will not keep him from seeing his children following the divorce with estranged wife, Kim Kardashian.

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star is asking the court to order joint legal and physical custody of the couple's four children to both her and Kanye -- and the reason is simple -- Kanye's always been a great father.

As you know, the legendary rapper has suffered from mental illness and was hospitalized for several days after experiencing a bipolar episode. Plus, during his run for President, many believed he was not fully in his right mind and was suffering from another episode.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Share Custody With 'Safety Net' In Place

According to reports, Kim is also comfortable with Kanye having custody of the couple's kids because there is always a 'safety net' in place.

Given the lifestyle that Kim and Kanye live, there is rarely a moment where the rapper is alone with the children. In most cases, there are caretakers and family members in place to help out the family.

It should be noted, Kim and Kanye employed a vast number of people to support their jet-setting lifestyles even when things were very good.

Kanye NOT Around The Kids If Suffering From Bipolar Episode

As we reported, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce on Friday and asked the court to order joint custody of the children to both her and Kanye.

We're told a custody agreement is already in place, and the couple is working out their financial settlement. The good news, both are vastly wealthy people, and that should make it an easier process. As we said, the couple has been split for months now, and they have been sharing custody of the kids with no issues.

Kim Kardashian Historically Cares For The Kids 'Most Of The Time'

Despite filing for joint legal and physical custody, we're told Kim Kardashian will continue to care for the children a lion's share of the time. Historically, this has been the case anyway, and that is not expected to change.

As for Kanye's illness, if he is having a bipolar episode he is generally not around the kids, so there should not be any issues. It's unclear if the shoe mogul will move closer to his children in Los Angeles or continue living in Wyoming.

The good news for reality show fans is they will get the low-down on the split, after it was reported, Kim will share details of the marriage ending on the final season of 'KUWTK.'
