Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin isn’t appreciating being told she doesn’t care about Texas as poolside photos of her flaunting her massive thigh gap spark backlash. The 31-year-old former athlete, who dropped jaws earlier this week while simultaneously reaching out to TX residents affected by the snowstorm, today took to her Instagram stories with a fierce clap-back as a fan alleged she isn’t posting enough content regarding the crisis. Nastia, followed by 1 million, spoke her mind – check it out and the photos below.
Scroll for the photos. Nastia, born in Russia and now living in Dallas, TX, had posted gorgeous, glamorous photos of herself as she gears up for the 12th annual Nastia Cup. Instead of only promoting the annual event, the five-time Olympic medalist took a moment to reflect on Texas’ disaster situation, but it looks like one follower didn’t think the blonde was doing enough.
“TO THE PERSON TELLING ME TO “READ THE ROOM” – AND I DIDN’T EVEN “TWEET” ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN TEXAS,” Nastia began.
Not one to stay silent, the “Dancing With the Stars” alum, continued:
“Judge me on my actions. Not on what you perceive through an Instagram post. I’m on the ground in Texas doing what I can to help people. What are you doing besides perpetuating cancel culture and dragging people down online without having a conversation first?”
Liukin added that she has a “right to continue working and sharing content,” “AND,” she added: “To be a decent person.” See the photos and her flexibility below!
The post in question had absolutely suggested Liukin cares about Texas. “While the countdown does continue, I also wanted to take this time to share ways we can all help my home state of Texas right now,” the gymnast had written, adding:
“I’m very fortunate to be safe and warm, but know so many Texans are suffering right now. below are some great organizations that I came across.”
Nastia had then shouted out an organization offering free clothing to needy residents. See her yoga below!
Nastia, known for not letting the haters hate, made 2020 headlines for a massive anorexia storm, one seeing a fan DM ask her how she feels “about promoting borderline anorexia looking bodies.” The gymnast, who has admitted she’s always been “thin,” admitted to feeling both “triggered” and “p-ssed” by the remark, taking to IG and clapping back as she said this is “My body.”
Nastia has since clapped back over her “gross skinny chicken legs,” ones she reminded fans won her all those medals.
