Halsey Says Pregnancy 'Leveled My Perception Of Gender' After Physical Changes

Halsey admitted that some of her preconceived notions have been rocked since she has been going through so many physical changes.

"February is the shortest month, but the days seem like they are taking very long. Butttttt also going so fast?! I’ve been thinking lots about my body. it’s strange to watch yourself change so quickly," she wrote on social media.

"I thought pregnancy would give me very strong, binary feelings about 'womanhood' but truly it has leveled my perception of gender entirely. My sensitivity to my body has made me hyper aware of my humanness and that’s all. Doing a remarkable thing. And it’s grand. I hope the feeling lasts."

The "Bad At Love" artist ended her message by describing what a typical day looks like.

"I cook a lot, sleep even more, and read lotssss of books. I miss my family. And you guys too! 🧚🏼‍♂️ bye for now," she wrote.

The singer shocked the world by announcing she was expecting on January 27 via Instagram. The announcement featured photos of her beautiful bump and she revealed the identity of the baby daddy, screenwriter Alev Aydin, by tagging him in the post. "surprise! 🍼🌈👼🏻" Halsey wrote alongside a set of beautiful photos taken by Sam Dameshek.

Baby daddy Alev quickly commented, "Heart so full, I love you, sweetness," Halsey replied, "I love you!!!!!! And I love this mini human already."

YouTuber David Dobrik was actually the first person to give Halsey and her new baby a gift, which just happened to launch his new YouTube series, "VIEWS." Dobrik presented the singer with a Tiffany teddy bear and she was super stoked.

"Shut up! Are you serious? This is so cute!" she exclaimed. "This is my first gift I've ever gotten. I'm gonna tell the baby that. I'm gonna be like, 'The first gift you ever got was from David Dobrik.'"

The Tiffany teddy bear that we sent must have gotten lost in the mail!
