Recently, the singer released a documentary which she titled “Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil,” and in it, she revealed surprising details about what truly happened in 2018.
The documentary also revealed that the media got it all wrong or part of the incident wrong and vividly explained the event how it truly happened.
Lovato’s main aim for making this documentary, was to truly reveal herself to the world in the events that shaped her and to let everyone know that, that single experience has resulted in long-standing effects for her.
Lovato Reveals The Real Drug She Overdosed On
Lovato has never hidden her past struggles from the world, as she has always seen it as the very force that drives her present life.
As a young star who could no longer deal with the pressure she was faced with, she found shelter in the use of drugs and alcohol. It took a while, but she decided to get clean.
However, in June 2018, the singer released a song titled “Sober,” which detailed the fact that she had started using again after being clean for six years. Three days later, she was rushed to an emergency ward after she overdosed on opiods.
The initial assumption by news outlets, was that she overdosed on heroin, but after a while, the truth was revealed.

Lovato also used the documentary as a medium to reveal the many health problems she suffered when she was younger. She mentioned that she once had a heart attack and suffered three strokes.
While speaking to the press about promoting her documentary, the singer made a shocking revelation. She said that she still experiences the effects of what happened in 2018.
“… I don’t drive a car because there are blind spots in my vision. I also for a long time had a really hard time reading. I feel like they kind of are still there to remind me of what could happen if I ever get into a dark place again.”
