Music mogul Jay-Z is reportedly "upset" about the rape lawsuit brought against him by an anonymous woman represented by lawyer Tony Buzbee.

The rapper's attorney, Alex Spiro, revealed the news during a press briefing. In it, he shared how downcast Jay-Z has been, especially because of his wife and kids.

Jay-Z has since denied the shocking rape allegations made against him in connection to fellow rapper, Sean "Diddy" Combs, vowing to expose Tony Buzbee "for the fraud that he is."

In a recent press briefing held in New York City, attorney Spiro gave an update on Jay-Z amid the rape allegations plaguing the rapper.

He revealed that the Roc Nation boss is "upset" about the lawsuit and displeased that a person would be allowed to make a mockery of the "system."

"He's upset. He's upset that somebody would be allowed to do this, to make a mockery of the system like this," Spiro said, per CNN. "He's upset that this distracts and dissuades real victims from coming forward. He's upset that his kids and his family have to deal with this. He's upset, and he should be upset."

Jay-Z's name made headlines when he was named in an amended lawsuit on December 8 as the celebrity who allegedly raped a 13-year-old alongside Diddy in 2000 at an MTV VMAs afterparty.

During the press briefing, Jay-Z's attorney, Spiro, was further asked about the rapper's relationship with Diddy and whether he planned on speaking about it.

However, Spiro claimed that Jay-Z and Diddy do not share a strong relationship beyond working together and that the Tidal founder knows nothing about Diddy's legal battles.

"Mr. Carter has nothing to do with Mr. Combs's case or Mr. Combs," the lawyer said. "They knew each other professionally for a number of years. Just like in all professions, people know each other. At the music awards, they support each other."

"There is no closer association between any of them," Spiro added. "That's also a matter of fiction. That's all that there is. He doesn't know anything about the charges or allegations against [Combs]. He has nothing to do with that case."

In an interview with NBC News, Jay-Z's accuser admitted that there were inconsistencies in her account of what happened on the fateful night of the alleged rape incident.

"Honestly, what is the clearest is what happened to me and [the] route that I took to what happened to me. Not all of the faces there are as clear," the anonymous woman who hails from Alabama. "So I have made some mistakes. I may have made a mistake in identifying."

According to the news outlet, some of the mistakes in her story include her father's statement that he does not recall picking her up at a gas station after she fled the scene of the alleged assault, as she claimed.

Additionally, the accuser stated she had a conversation with a celebrity at the afterparty where the assault reportedly occurred. However, it was later revealed that the celebrity was not at the party and was on tour at the time.

Despite these inconsistencies, the 38-year-old alleged victim maintains that her claims are not false and continues to stand by her allegations.

Buzbee, who represents Jay-Z's alleged victim, has admitted that his office is still vetting the rape claims. He also emphasized that not only does she stand by her story, but she has also agreed to submit to a polygraph test.

"Jane Doe's case was referred to our firm by another, who vetted it prior to sending it to us," he said in an email to NBC News. "Our client remains fiercely adamant that what she has stated is true, to the best of her memory. We will continue to vet her claims and collect corroborating data to the extent it exists."

Buzbee noted that the entire situation has been "extremely distressing" for Jay-Z's accuser, who has experienced seizures and sought medical treatment due to the stress.

The lawyer further explained that he wasn't surprised by the father's lack of recollection, as the alleged victim had already pointed out that he was "in no state to remember" at the time due to personal issues he was facing.

After Jane Doe's admission of inconsistencies in her rape claim, Jay-Z's lawyer released a statement to the court, dismissing the allegations and branding them a "sham" and "patently false."

"Basic facts in her narrative — the who, what, when, and where — are wrong," the filing stated. "These stunning revelations make clear that the complaint filed by the plaintiff's attorney, Anthony Buzbee, had no factual basis whatsoever."

The legal team also criticized the alleged victim's lawyer for failing to conduct a "reasonable inquiry into the facts" before filing the claim against Jay-Z, adding that the allegations should never have been filed in the first instance.

The lawyers concluded the filing by stating their intention to immediately file a motion to strike the first amended complaint, which referenced the refiling of the lawsuit that initially named only Sean "Diddy" Combs.
