Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were recently offered a chance to reunite for a new movie role worth millions of dollars. However, the possibility of that happening is seemingly non-existent.
Sources close to Pitt said there's "no way" he would "lower himself" for money by accepting to work with Jolie after she caused him so much "heartache."
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been locked in a messy court battle over their Chateau Miraval winery after the actress sold her shares of the brand without informing him.
Brad Pitt Doesn't Want To Work With Angelina Jolie
Rumors of a potential on-screen reunion between Pitt and Jolie have been swirling. Film Producer Danny Rossner is looking to hire them to play lovers in his new movie, based on real-life hotelier Emmanuel Martinez.
Rossner hoped the warring ex-spouses could "put their differences aside" for the sake of the project and even had a mouthwatering multi-million dollar offer to it.
However, it's unlikely his wishes would be granted as Pitt is said to be uninterested in working with Jolie amid their strained relationship over the years.
According to the Daily Mail, a source said there's "no way" the "Fight Club" actor would "lower himself" to accept money to work with someone who has caused him so much "heartache."
"All the money in the world wouldn't get Brad to appear in a movie with Angelina ever again," the source shared. "It would definitely spark public interest, but it's not anything he would ever consider for a moment."
"They are currently bitter enemies so there is no way Brad would lower himself to be paid any amount of money to talk to Angie on screen," the insider added. "She's caused him so much heartache and doesn't even want his inner circle to talk about her."
The Producer Wants The Ex-Couple To Play 'Heavy Love Scenes'
Pitt and Jolie have been locked in several messy court cases against each other since 2016 after an explosive fight ensued between them on their private jet.
Although she has since filed for divorce, they were legally declared single in 2019 but are still trying to finalize their split up until now.
One can only imagine how awkward working on the film would be for the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" costars after Rossner shared that he wanted them to act out "heavy love scenes" in the said movie and claimed he'd raised $60 million to entice them.
"Right now, I think, Brad Pitt's in the $20 to $25 million range [per movie], and Angelina Jolie is in the $15 million range," he told the New York Post. "In the 50-percent range above their going rate is what we're prepared to offer."
The Producer Is Willing To Accommodate Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt's Demands
During his chat with the news outlet, Rossner admitted that getting them to act in the love scenes might be challenging but noted that he is willing to "accommodate" their wishes.
"There is a love scene … It's a torrid one, too," he said. "It's not salacious but there are very heavy love scenes. [Martinez] had a wife, and he had a mistress."
Rossner added, "If we can have a cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon, [Pitt and Jolie] can put their differences aside and come together to build a bridge and make this movie."
Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie's Legal Battle
Pitt and Jolie have been tied in a messy divorce battle since 2016 and a legal battle over their chateau Miraval winery dubbed the war of the rosés.
The "Troy" actor sued the "Maleficent" star after she sold her stakes in the business to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler in 2021 without his approval.
Pitt claims that the sale violated their agreement which grants him the right of first refusal. However, Jolie denied the allegations, claiming that Pitt refused to buy her share unless she agreed to an expanded NDA.
Also, the pair are still trying to finalize their divorce since a 2016 altercation ensued between them where Jolie claimed he made her "feel like a hostage" on the plane, per People Magazine.
The Actor's Relationship With His Kids Was Also Affected
Pitt's relationship with his children has also been affected immensely because of his acrimonious legal battles with Jolie.
The two have six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. Pitt adopted Maddox and Zahara in 2006 after he began dating Jolie.
A source recently told the Daily Mail that Pitt's children have been forced to accept a "heartbreaking" lack of contact from the actor's parents because of his flight with their mom.
"Brad Pitt's parents have not been able to see their beloved grandchildren for around eight years amid the ongoing divorce and legal battle between Brad and Angelina," an insider said.
"Prior to the separation, they were a part of the kids' lives, and they all spent a lot of time together," the source continued. "It is just heartbreaking to see that this is no longer the case."
"It is one thing for the kids to not see their father, but for Jane and Bill to not have any contact with their precious grandkids is sad," they added. "They are in their 80s, and to think that they would never be able to spend time with the kids again is just unbelievable."
