Jamie Foxx Breaks Silence After Requiring Stitches From Heated Birthday Brawl

It seems that actor Jamie Foxx is not catching any breaks this year!

After falling into a coma due to a brain bleed that caused a stroke, the “Back In Action” star found himself taking a trip to the hospital once again when he was involved in an altercation at a restaurant where he was just trying to celebrate his birthday.

On Friday night, Jamie Foxx was reportedly enjoying his birthday dinner at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. Around 10 PM, law enforcement officials were called to the upscale restaurant due to a report of fighting in the dining area.

Although the actor was gone by the time the police arrived, an incident report was filed and Foxx is expected to cooperate with police to escalate the matter further.

Although few details about this event have been released, a representative for Jamie Foxx told TMZ, “Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”

A witness revealed that customers at another table were being “rude” to the actor and he had asked him to stop because his family was present. The customers dining at that table allegedly responded by throwing the glass that hit him in the mouth, requiring him to get stitches. At this time, it is not yet clear to what extent the “Ray” actor is injured.

Early on Sunday morning, the “Dreamgirls” actor took to Instagram to address the incident himself. “The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed,” he quipped in white text written over a black screen.

“The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it… the lights have been shining bright,” the actor wrote in the caption.

He then went on to thank “everyone” that has watched his Netflix special, “What Had Happened Was,” which is now streaming. “If you haven’t checked it out please go check it out it’s from my heart and my soul…” he added.

Many took to the comments section of his post to share support for the actor amid his health struggles. “Finished it this morning. What a blessing. Thanks for giving your testimony! Inspiring,” one fan commented along with a red heart emoji.

“Man. Your special was amazing. I cried and thought about my daughter and life. God bless you,” another follower wrote.

“I am about to watch it right now! We love you @iamjamiefoxx! NO weapon formed against you can or will prosper, in the power and authority of JESUS name!” a third fan exclaimed alongside three prayer hands emojis.

Last June, the “Miami Vice” actor had a health scare that was mostly hidden from the public. In his December 2024 Netflix special, the Oscar-winning actor finally explained why he was hospitalized for a considerable length of time.

“April 11, I was having a bad headache and I asked my boy for an aspirin. And I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f-ck to do. Before I could get the aspirin I went out. I don’t remember 20 days,” he stated, revealing that when he woke up, he was in a wheelchair and could not walk.

At Piedmont Hospital, a doctor informed him and his family that he was "having a brain bleed that's led to a stroke."

After his surgery, he said that the doctor told his sister, "You were right, your prayers are answered. We didn't find where it was coming from, but he is having a stroke. He may be able to make a full recovery, but it's going to be the worst year of his life."
