Jay-Z Laments Effect Of Rape Lawsuit On His And Beyoncé's Kids: 'My Only Heartbreak Is For My Family'

Jay-Z has spoken out after he and embattled rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs were accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in a civil lawsuit filed by an unidentified woman.

The father of three is the first big-name celebrity to be officially named by Texas lawyer Tony Buzbee, who represents over 120 alleged Diddy victims.

Now, Jay-Z has called out the lawsuit, accusing Tony Buzbee and his client of "blackmail" while sharing how difficult things would be for his and Beyoncé's children.

Jay-Z, real name, Shawn Corey Carter, has officially been named as the alleged rape accomplice of Diddy.

An unknown woman, identified as "Jane Doe" in legal documents, refiled a lawsuit, claiming both rappers sexually assaulted her at a VMA afterparty in 2000.

However, Jay-Z has slammed the accusations as attorney Buzbee's attempt to blackmail him.

"My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a 'lawyer' named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle," the rapper said in a lengthy statement shared online. "No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!"

Jay-Z continued, "These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case."

He further noted that he had done "a bit of research" on Buzbee, claiming that the lawyer seems to "have a pattern of these types of theatrics."

"I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over. I'm more than prepared to deal with your type. You claim to be a marine?! Marines are known for their valor, you have neither honor nor dignity," Jay-Z added.

In his statement, Jay-Z brought up his wife and kids and how challenging the lawsuit would be for them.

"My only heartbreak is for my family," the rapper said. "My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence."

He added, "Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and [the] human spirit."

Jay-Z shares three kids with famous singer Beyoncé: Daughter Blue Ivy Carter, 12, and twin boy and girl, Sir and Rumi Carter, 7.

Still, in his lengthy statement, Jay-Z slammed Buzbee, stating that the Texas attorney is exploiting the "life story" of "true victims" for money.

"My heart and support goes out to true victims in the world, who have to watch how their life story is dressed in costume for profitability by this ambulance chaser in a cheap suit," the rapper said.

He added, "You have made a terrible error in judgement thinking that all 'celebrities' are the same. I'm not from your world. I'm a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don't play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honor."

Jay-Z concluded, "We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain. Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable."

NBC News reported that attorney Buzbee refiled a civil sexual assault lawsuit on Sunday, which he amended to include Jay-Z's name as the celebrity who allegedly raped a minor along with Diddy at a VMAs afterparty in 2000.

The alleged victim initially filed the lawsuit in October but hid Jay-Z's identity, seemingly referring to him as "Celebrity A" at the time.

The woman, who claims to have been 13 in 2000, recalled being dropped off at "Radio City Music Hall in New York City so she could try to attend the Video Music Awards [VMAs]."

On getting there, she was unable to attend the Awards ceremony as she did not have a ticket. Instead, she got acquainted with a limousine driver, who said he worked for Diddy and that the rapper "liked younger girls," adding that she "fit what Diddy was looking for."

After their exchange, the driver invited her to an afterparty and personally took her to the venue of the event "in a black limousine with [a] black interior," the lawsuit noted, per the Mirror.

When she got to the location of the afterparty, the alleged victim consumed a drink she was given and began feeling "woozy and lightheaded."

While searching for somewhere to "rest," she reportedly entered what "she believed to be an empty bedroom so she could lie down for a moment. She did not lock the door."

The lawsuit states that Diddy came into the room shortly after with Jay-Z and a woman identified as "Celebrity B."

Diddy is said to have "aggressively approached Plaintiff with a crazed look in his eyes, grabbed her, and said, 'You are ready to party.'"

While they were in the room, both Diddy and Jay-Z allegedly took turns raping the 13-year-old while "Celebrity B" watched.

Embattled rapper Diddy has also called out Buzbee's amended complaint, calling it a "shameless publicity stunt."

According to TMZ, the music mogul's legal team said in a statement: "This amended complaint and the recent extortion lawsuit against Mr. Buzbee exposes his barrage of lawsuits against Mr. Combs for what they are: shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them, just as lies have been spread about Mr. Combs."

They continued, "As his legal team has said before, Mr. Combs has full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor."

Diddy is currently in the Brooklyn MDC jail, awaiting trial in 2025 for federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
