Ellen DeGeneres is facing a familiar nightmare at her new English home, which has reportedly been flooded after Storm Bert ravaged that area and the River Thames burst open its banks.

The former TV show host recently relocated to England with her wife, Portia De Rossi, to live out her "retirement" phase after she was accused of fostering a racist and toxic workplace environment.

Reports had earlier suggested that the couple moved to the UK in response to Donald Trump's win in the US elections, but a source close to Ellen DeGeneres claimed she just wants to retire from the public eye.

DeGeneres's new home in England has suffered a devastating flood that is eerily reminiscent of the Montecito incident she witnessed last year, forcing her to confront the harsh realities of extreme weather once again.

According to reports, the natural disaster occurred with the advent of Storm Bert, which caused the River Thames to burst open its banks, coupled with 80 MPH winds that ravaged the area.

The couple's 43-acre Cotswolds property was pictured swamped in flood water as roads surrounding it became impassable.

A shocked resident who lives close to DeGeneres and de Rossi told the Daily Mail, "The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I have seen it in years."

The couple's move across the pond, which had been claimed to be a response to Trump's presidential win, came as a shock to many, but a source recently revealed the real reason the couple left.

According to the Daily Mail, the former "Ellen DeGeneres Show" host's relocation to the UK wasn't just a response to the outcome of the US election but also her resolve to close the chapter on her TV career, as insiders told the news outlet that they'd planned to move before the elections for DeGeneres to kick off her "retirement."

"Make no mistake about it. This is Ellen and Portia's retirement," the source shared. "Neither one of them has any projects lined up."

"Ellen really felt she had made her mark on the industry, but that was diminished when she was canceled over her alleged treatment of her staff," the source added. "Then to have celebrities call her out one by one was so hurtful."

DeGeneres and de Rossi settled down in their new neighborhood very quickly and have already started picking up their social lives where they left off.

The couple recently made a stop at The Farmer's Dog, a new pub owned by British broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson, where they got to listen to Irish band The Corrs doing a relaxed, acoustic performance.

However, it's DeGeneres' new look that caught a lot of attention after ditching her familiar blonde hair for a head full of brunette tresses.

One source previously told the Daily Mail that the way people's attitudes towards DeGeneres changed, following reports that she fostered a racist and harsh work environment, was enough to make her leave the US.

"With all the ill will towards her, she was looking to move away even before the election," the source began. "And as things panned out with Trump winning, she is glad she is making the move and going to be away from the US."

They continued, "She has the one person that still loves her, Portia, and she is ready to leave everyone who in her mind left her hanging out to dry. If she considers it her retirement, so be it."

"An enormous part of the US doesn't like her because of her sexual preferences, and others were turned off by her persona, which some perceived to be fake in the wake of the workplace allegations," the source noted.

The stand-up comedian said she "kicked out of show business" after reports of toxic workplace behavior on the set of her show went viral in 2022.

She recently released the Netflix special, "Four Your Approval," where she chronicled how she was spending her time after her famous TV show.

"I decided to take up gardening," DeGeneres said. "I got chickens. Let me see what else I can tell you about what's been going on … Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business … Yeah, the 'be kind' girl wasn't kind. That was the headline."

"Had I ended my show by saying, 'Go f-ck yourselves,' people would have been pleasantly surprised to find out I'm kind," the comedian joked.

DeGeneres was asked if she continued to "dance" during the ordeal as she'd been known for, but the comedian admitted that she was unable to.

"No... It's hard to dance when you're crying," she said, adding that she "had a hard time" and "didn't get out" amid the scandal.

DeGeneres later shared that she was able to go through the trying phase with the help of De Rossi and that they're both "dancing now."

"I'm making jokes about what happened to me, but it was devastating," she said. "It took a long time for me to want to do anything again."
