Conor McGregor Suffers Another Loss As His Beer Gets Pulled From Ireland Pubs After Sexual Assault Case

Conor McGregor has been dealt several blows lately since an eight-person jury found him liable in his civil sexual assault case brought against him by a woman named Nikita Hand.

According to a new report, a big company has cut ties with the MMA fighter after pulling his alcohol brand from pubs in Ireland.

This comes after Conor McGregor was dropped from a popular video game, and his mural got removed from an Irish MMA gym.

McGregor's loss in his civil sexual assault case is already impacting him negatively as brands distance themselves from the former UFC champion.

Daily Mail reported that the company, JD Weatherspoon, has taken steps to sever ties with McGregor by ordering the removal of his alcohol brand, Forged Irish Stout, from all seven of their pubs in Ireland.

Weatherspoon also released a brief statement about the new development without saying why they decided to dump McGregor's beer.

The statement read, "Wetherspoon has taken the decision to remove the product, Forged Stout, in its pubs in ROI."

The company's actions come after McGregor was found liable for sexual assault in a civil suit brought against him by Nikita Hand, who accused the fighter of "brutally" raping her in a hotel back in 2018.

McGregor was then ordered to pay Hand a total of €248,603.60 in damages. He has since slammed the verdict, vowing to appeal the ruling.

Before Weatherspoon decided to pull McGregor's booze, the MMA fighter was dropped by game developer IO Interactive.

McGregor had worked with the company on one of their games, "Hitman," lending his voice to the character The Disruptor.

However, after his civil sexual assault case, the deal fell through, and the company announced that they would remove all of his content that their viewers could see or hear.

"In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately," IO Interactive said in a statement.

They added, "We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr McGregor from our storefronts starting today."

The mixed martial artist's reputation took another hit when a gym in Galway posted a video of his mural being painted over.

The mural had been on the gym's entrance wall since 2017 and depicted McGregor screaming at the UFC 194. This was the same event where McGregor knocked out competitor Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds to clinch the title.

A video of the mural being painted over was shared online, featuring several young men using cans of white paint and brushes to get the job done.

The video also had the caption, "The double champ does in fact not do what he wants," mocking McGregor's famous quote.

It was initially uploaded on Titok, where it gathered millions of views before it found its way to other social media platforms. It has also sparked calls for other similar murals of McGregor to be taken down.

Fans have since praised the removal of his mural and have made calls for more gyms in Ireland to follow suit and take down images of the former UFC champion.

McGregor recently took to X, formerly Twitter, to share an official statement where he admitted to making "mistakes" and developing "regrets" about his actions.

In his post, McGregor admitted to being unfaithful to the "woman I love the most in the world" but maintained his innocence and disclosed that he planned to appeal the ruling.

"People want to hear from me, I needed time. I know I made mistakes," he wrote. "Six years ago, I should have never responded to her outreaches. I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world. That's all on me."

He continued, "As much as I regret it, everything that happened that night was consensual and all the witnesses present swore to that under oath. I have instructed my legal team to appeal the decision."

"I can't go back, and I will move forward," he added. "I am beyond grateful to my family, friends, and supporters all over the world who have stayed by my side. That's it. No more. Getting back to the gym- the fight game awaits!"

Nikita Hand sat down for an interview with The Irish Mail on Sunday, where she revealed that she was confident she would win her case against McGregor.

Hand noted she was telling the "truth from day one," adding that the ruling means her young daughter doesn't have to grow up in a world where she has to "shut up and say nothing."

Regarding how she felt after the win, she said, "I am just exhausted, to be honest with you, I'm just exhausted," adding that she is "just trying to kind of take it day-by-day now."

"I'm just very overwhelmed with the support as well, now, that I have received," she said of the supportive messages she has received since the jury awarded her damages in her case.

On whether she expected to win, Hand said, "To win? Yeah, yes, yes. Yes, because my story is true. I always believed in my heart that I would [win]."

"Obviously, with the DPP, that didn't work out, but yeah, I always felt like I was gonna win because I was telling the truth from day one, you know," she added, referring to the decision of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) not to proceed with a criminal trial.
