Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, are reportedly eyeing a return to their country, Australia.
The couple are said to be planning a move back home in search of a fresh start after they endured a tough year.
Nicole Kidman recently lost her mom, Janelle Kidman, in September while she was promoting her movies and filming another project.
Nicole Kidman And Keith Urban Eye Return To Australia
Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, are reportedly planning to relocate back to Australia after enduring a tough year. The "Big Little Lies" actress recently lost her mother, Janelle, and had to travel back to Australia for the funeral.
While mourning her mom, Kidman traveled the country to promote her new movie and film other projects. Now, the loss of her mother combined with Kidman's busy schedule have reportedly made her family fear she may suffer from "burnout" and have now set their eyes on returning home.
"Nicole and Keith have had their worst year ever, they've barely spent any time together, and she's been on her own throughout some of her most distressing times," a source told Woman's Day Magazine (per the Daily Mail.)
"The big worry on everyone's minds is, how much more of this can she take?" the source added.
Her singer husband, Urban, is also reportedly considering hitting the brakes on touring to support her when his Las Vegas residency ends in February.
The Hollywood Star Lost Her Mom
The 57-year-old actress recently suffered the loss of her mom, Janelle, and had to join her family, including her junior sister Antonia, back in Sydney as they all attended her funeral.
Janelle died in September, just hours before her famous daughter won the Best Actress award for her role in "Babygirl" at the Venice Film Festival.
The news of Kidman's mother's death was shared in a statement read by the film's director, Halina Reijn.
Kidman said, "I arrived in Venice and found out shortly after that my beautiful, brave mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, has just passed. I'm in shock, and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her. She shaped me and made me."
She continued, "I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heart-breaking, and my heart is broken. We love you all."
Kidman previously lost her father, Anthony Kidman, in September 2014. He reportedly died while on a trip to Singapore.
Nicole Kidman Calls Her Late Mother Her 'Compass'
In an interview for Vanity Fair's Hollywood Issue, Kidman opened up about grieving her mother, describing Janelle as her "compass" and a constant source of love and encouragement throughout her life and career.
"She was my compass in a way," she said. "It's like losing that, but at the same time going."
Kidman added, "So much of what she wanted for my sister and I was to create women in this world who felt like they could express themselves and have opportunities, especially things she didn't have from her generation."
The actress emphasized her mother's unwavering support for her career, saying, "She would be there through all the ups and downs, all of it. Her essence has been pretty much the driving force through my whole life. I wish she could have seen this part of it."
Nicole Kidman Says She's 'So Much About Taking Care Of Other People'
The "Special Ops: Lioness" actress recently weighed in on her very tight schedule, disclosing that she finds it hard to take a break away from the camera and care for herself.
"It's very hard for me to go, 'Okay, I'm just going to take care of myself,' because I'm so much about taking care of other people," Kidman told Variety. "I'm thinking, 'I can create more work for people. I can create jobs for people.' And also, I love it. I have the passion."
She added, "I've just got to take care of my body. I wish I had superpowers because I would love to be everywhere."
The Oscar Winner Says She Wakes Up 'Crying & Gasping'
It seems like Kidman's family has a reason to be worried about her health, as she recently told GQ Magazine that she sometimes wakes up crying, partly because of the loss of her parents and also due to thoughts about mortality.
"Mortality. Connection. Life coming and hitting you," she told the news outlet. "And loss of parents and raising children and marriage and all of the things that go into making you a fully sentient human. I'm in all of those places. So life is, whew. It's definitely a journey."
Having had what GQ described as a "sharp, dramatic breath" while talking, Kidman added that this "hits you as you get older" and "it's a wake up at 3 am crying and gasping kind of thing. If you're in it and not numbing yourself to it. And I'm in it. Fully in it."
She told the news outlet that in spite of the setbacks, she pushes through the pain for her children's sake.
"It goes on," she shared. "That natural line of how it's meant to go. The parents, then you, then the children. That's the natural course. So if that happens, that's a blessing."
