'Sister Wives' Christine Brown Recalls Daughter Gwendlyn's Coming Out Experience

Christine Brown opened up about a pivotal moment in her daughter Gwendlyn Brown's life — her inspiring journey of coming out.

The proud mother shared how Gwendlyn found the strength to embrace her true self, an experience that led to a new chapter in her life. 

That emotional milestone was followed by Gwendlyn Brown's joyous marriage to Beatriz Queiroz in July 2023. 

During the November 10 episode of TLC's "Sister Wives," viewers got a heartwarming glimpse into Gwendlyn's engagement party, which was filmed before she married her now-wife, Beatriz Queiroz. 

Proud mom, Christine, could not help but gush about the couple, calling Queiroz "cool" and "really, really sweet." Reflecting on Gwendlyn's journey, the 52-year-old recalled the moment her daughter came out to their family while they were living in Flagstaff.

She shared how the news was not a surprise but a confirmation of something they had already sensed. In her words, "Look, we all knew, but to see Gwendlyn's eyes just light up around Bea, and Gwendlyn is so comfortable around her."

In Touch reports that Christine described the couple's bond as incredibly special, emphasizing the comfort and love they share. "They're just cute together. So cute, it's always such a relief when your child finds their person," Christine remarked.

In that same episode, the family's patriarch also opened up about his feelings regarding Gwendlyn's sexuality. Equally proud, Kody revealed his approach to his offspring's journey, sharing, "I had no problem with Gwen marrying a woman."

He added that a personal experience strengthened his perspective, saying, "I specifically had an experience where God said, as God, God said, 'I judge,' and he told me, 'And you love.' That's how I live if I can."

While Kody expressed support for Gwendlyn's relationship, he admitted the engagement party had an unexpected twist—a tattoo station for guests. 

Reflecting on the event, he said, "20 years ago, when Gwendlyn was just like a baby, I never imagined I was going to be at a tattoo party for a wedding engagement party."

Despite his self-proclaimed "tattoo phobia," Kody acknowledged he was not opposed to tattoos themselves.

Before tying the knot with Queiroz in July 2023, the 23-year-old had a unique vision for her big day—one that did not include her father walking her down the aisle.

During a YouTube Q&A in April 2023, Gwendlyn, who got engaged to Queiroz after a whirlwind seven-month romance, revealed her initial plan to forgo the traditional walk. 

"I was thinking of just walking myself down the aisle," she shared. However, as the idea evolved, she found a new, heartwarming option: having one of her brothers take on the role. "That's actually kind of adorable," she said, calling the idea "so cute."

While her choice may have raised eyebrows, Gwendlyn's decision reflected her desire to create a memorable day on her own terms.

In July 2023, Gwendlyn shared her happiest news yet—she and Queiroz were officially married. The couple marked the occasion with a romantic photo posted to Instagram, capturing a tender kiss in front of a vibrant neon sign reading "The Queirozes."

The Blast reported that the radiant bride wore a stunning white dress with delicate spaghetti straps, while Queiroz complemented her in a sharp tuxedo and sleek hairstyle.

Gwendlyn captioned the post with enthusiasm, writing, "say hello to mrs (x2) queiroz," signaling the start of their new chapter. 

Fans flooded the comments with excitement, calling the pair "cuties" and their "new favorite couple." Some begged for more wedding photos, while another wrote, "Congratulations!!!!❤️❤️ wishing you both all the happiness in the world."

Gwendlyn and Queiroz's love story began in the most unexpected setting—a fast-food restaurant. While working together, the lovebirds' connection quickly blossomed.

The TV personality shared that her wife started as a shift leader before becoming a manager, joking that their budding romance may have played a role in the promotion. 

Gwendlyn candidly admitted she had a crush on Queiroz for a year, feeling like just another coworker during that time.

"It took about a month, and then we started dating. And then two-ish months in, we moved in. And then six [or] seven months in, got engaged. And now we're getting married," Gwendlyn explained.

With the support of her parents, Christine and Kody Brown, Gwendlyn Brown has forged her path to love with their unwavering encouragement.
